Well, it is that time of the year again. Time to make those New Year's Resolutions that we usually end up keeping until the 15th of January.

My Resolution for the year is actually something pretty serious. I'm going to track my blood sugar for my diabetes a lot better than I did in 2018. In 2018 I basically didn't track it at all.

This past week I ended up getting a pretty bad infection in my esophagus that basically made me want to vomit every time I took a breath. I ended up going to the hospital for it this past Wednesday and then promptly got a huge scolding from my doctor when he asked how my blood sugar was doing and I couldn't answer.

They kinda freaked out because they took the reading and it was 670. Of course I was drinking a Mt. Dew when I went in because I had read online that a carbonated drink would ease the pressure on my esophagus, which it really did. It was back down to 250 the next morning after I took my insulin.

So yea, that is going to be my thing for 2019. Anyone else want to share what their's is going to be, and why?

Same as in previous years, cast off old bad habits and replace them with better ones. By the time I am ready to push the daisies, I hope to be an almost perfect corpse.

The usual, eat better.....lasts a few weeks then colleagues start bringing in home made cakes and that's usually that!

As someone said ' I can resist anything but temptation'

We celebrate the Yuletide - Saturnalia holiday from Dec 17th until New Years Day by eating and drinking to access and going off budget. So our resolution every New Years is to return to healthy eating and starting a new strict budget.

Here are my serious 2020 new year's resolution

I can see 2020 with perfect vision at this point:

See if I can pay attention to what’s going on in my own country instead of spending so much time watching the never ending train wreck in other places nearby.

Also see if I can do something with my Japanese porn addiction.

This should cut down my computer screen time to a reasonable level, otherwise I shall just disable my screen time monitoring.

View house cleaning, working out and cooking as spiritual excercises.

Eat very sweet fruit only as occasional treat and even more so cakes, cookies and pastries.

Go back to a measured daily dose of walnuts, cashew and almonds instead of popping hands full of them at a time into my mouth.

I never did "new year's resolutions", cause I mostly tackle issues if they are current, so there is no accumulation at years end

We're in complete agreement on this point! Tackle issues whenever they occur!

If you can ever stick to this permanently, you would be forever grateful to whoever gave you this gem of an advice. The most effective health insurance ever devised for modern man.
