Pesticides, chemical fertilizers and gmo's are the ploy I think--they might cost less money sometimes, but they produce nutrient-deficient food that is filled with cancer-causing poisons that negatively affect humans and the wider environment. I've eaten primarily organic food for several years now, which includes produce labeled organic or 'pesticide free' at farmers markets, fruit I've foraged myself in the wild or from yards where people don't use poisons, and my own massive year-round organic (but not certified) garden.

My older sister had an organic food store some years ago... since then I know the values of organic food.

I buy Organic food all the time shop at a local food store and shop at the local market. Oh and the RBST found in dairy products is horrid. Who knows the kind of affects its having on people and on future generations.

I think people are misguided with the notion that organic is always better....nature is filled with many poison's. I was brought up on organic food and i know many who got sick from it. Push come to shove, i don't care..especially since supermarkets make a point to triple the price of "organic products" and i worked in a supermarket for 9 months...and for the most part its a sham.

I don't disagree that they tripple the price or that you can get sick from it but the risk is lower.

I don't believe it's always as good as they have you believe and I'm quite sure a lot of it is a sham, as newage says.

I used to think more about this kind of thing but there is so much wool pulled over eyes in many things just to get more money from you, so many "gimmicks" to get you to pay more that I stopped worrying about it. I'm certainly not paying so much extra for stuff that doesn't necessarily taste any better or even different.

If I grew it myself then yes, it'd be organic - and cheaper - but I don't have anywhere to grow it :p

Eat organic. What about drinking , breathing , wearing , rayed on , listening to,
living with , working in with and for ? It is a battle to be at least partially LOST !
