Would someone please help me. For the life of me, i can not seem to access Oron's premium features. I once had a premium account (back in March) but changed to another service. When I tried to return, I found it difficult to actually PAY for premium service. What am i doing wrong? I can register but I can't get premium features.

Not sure what's going wrong with you but to upgrade back to premium you need to log into your old account and go from there.

My premium account ran out tonight and when I looked at extending it I got scared off.Apart from all the legal issues Oron are facing trying to re-new is not easy.I couldn't use paypal and I would have to go through some re-seller where I had to give a mobile phone number and make a call where the cash was taken.Not for me I'm afraid,I think I'll wait until things become clearer or find another sharer.

anyway I thought I would share my positive feedback as most people seem to be so negative about the whole downloading and uploading issue.

Hello Skinjo,I am in the UK too and I always found oron excellent but the reason I am holding back on re-newing my premium is the distinct possibility of oron going out of buisness and I think there will be less and less oron links posted until things are clearer.You are right about Rapidgator,I have been trying to download 2 links for hours this morning!

Thanks for your useful input into this discussion. I take your point about the risks as they are obviously very real. but I have noticed that Filepost only download now on premium account only (where is the free download as required in GH rules) and yet there are more and more people uploading with this server together with asfile (aptly named) rapidgator, extrabit etc and so it is has already had a desired effect of stopping downloader’s as we can not all pay for premium accounts with every one.
I think it is very hypocritical to pick on Oron and not the rest; after all they are all greedy and liable to be closed down by the US government in the end (Get real).
Therefore as I only pay around £13.00 a month (the cost of 40 fags) I do not think that this will break the bank if they are closed down, and in the meantime I am getting a good service speed. Funny how nearly everybody used Oron a year ago before the Megaupload situation arose.
NO BRMSTM69 I am not paid to support Oron HA HA I agree with a lot of what you say but why not knock all of them not just one company, after all we all know that downloading material whether on a tape recorder in the 60's and 70's and now whatever so called magical implement and the Net is illegal and has risks.
To stop this intrusion of civil liberty we saw of the Nazis( nice uniforms though) and now the US want to rule the world in what ever way they like (Iraq)and the rest, As a proud Brit no one is going to tell me what I can and cannot do, you get nowhere by not taking a risk.
Sorry to go on and on but with so much opinion being stated on all these forums either live a little or start knitting pullovers lol:rofl:

I believe that EVERY file host that pays for downloads is a threat to internet privacy and personal freedom. Allowing uploaders to profit from piracy has opened the flood gates to all sorts of legislation designed to restrict, censor and monitor the internet.People profiting from piracy are doing so at the expense of everyone's personal freedoms and privacy.

As a long serving member of this forum's staff, I led the charge to ban the use of any file or picture host that did payouts, but it was a futile effort because soon, nearly all the filehost resorted to doing payouts just to stay in business.

But Oron... Oron is a different story all together. While all the other filehost at least made an attempt to look legit, obeying take-down notices, etc. and cited privacy laws to protect their users, Oron blatantly violated the laws. They purchased pirate groups and actively encouraged members to upload copyrighted material using their service, effectively making those members accomplices in an international crime syndicate and removing any protection that privacy laws may have afforded them. And just as I predicted two years ago, those members are being served up on a silver platter while Oron is sneaking out the back exit with a brief case full of cash...

Thanks for the reply to my reply to Yorkie last night.
I do agree with the point that you make and I can see that this Russian Billionaire is out to get the money and run as other posters say and they (us Govern) will never get him, and I agree that all file hosts should protect the very people out here who are propping up their businesses by paying for premium accounts which as you state is totally wrong anyway.
I too have been a member of this forum since 2009 and know that you have worked very very hard to try and sort this problem out, and it must be very frustrating to see so many posters still using Oron when they obviously have no scruples at all. I will take your advice and not pay anymore money to this company as they are merely mafia type traders.
But the question now arises were do we go for quicker downloads as the free
downloads are simply farrrr to longg I.e. Filefactory often has the message on all downloads " Free download spaces all taken, join for premium" so here we go again being made to use an expensive download choice and other file hosts
such as the dreaded FILEMONSTER::devil:which is getting everywhere on all the other forums that I belong to having a min 2hr download free with nearly all of their clips split into 3 or 4 sections at 2hrs each, whereas the same film on another forum and host has it on 1 section so this isn't anything to do with HG-Split etc its so that they can get more money out of the file download.
Is Making only free downloads the answer? and removing all premium downloads from forums. Depositfiles, rapidshare (who used to the main filehoster only 5 years ago and now have a very quick free download service and of course the great mediafile who has mainly multiple free downloads and quick too should be encouraged, so that your hard work of getting these bad guys stopped and banned may just come to fruition. anyway thanks for making the clear point about oron to me, you are not negative at all and I hope one day that we can all just have fun on the net as really life is too short and that really was the point that I meant about the £13 quid bit in my post

Squiggle I will be a good bunny and let you know if I see anymore premium only downloads as we all need to be active in this not just leave it to great guys like brmstn69 to fight our corner.

If it helps, here is a new filehost that I've been experimenting with. So far the reaction has been very positive. No download timers, no captcha, no bullshit ...
I have only once encountered a "no download slots available" message and most members have reported 600-900 kbs speeds for downloading. I have averaged 800kbs-1mps downloading and 115kbs up-loading...

and free too, they are really great.
Now how do we go about getting this used by all.
Maybe the other charging filehosts should be banned.
The only drawback is that the forum rules would have to be changed and that I suppose would lose a lot of members. nothing is simple is it.
but thanks again, If I see this filehost at any other forum that I am on I will shout the good news.

Used by all... That will never happen. Unfortunately, the vast majority of uploaders expect something other than thanks for their effort, and that's putting it nicely. Most are just in it for the money. If we were to ban all paying filehost, this forum would become a ghost town...

They say it up front... advertising financed. Mediafire has operated for years this way, but I'm sure that if it were to become widely used, the performance would suffer greatly...

But for now, it's a viable alternative for those who just want to share and have enough consideration for others to make it easy on them...

Yes, don't waste your money on ORON...just choose another loader.
I love mediafire and rapidshare, but anything BUT ORON is fine, actually.
