For a given performer, it provides his real name, DOB, country of origin, aliases, filmography, social media accounts (sometimes under his real name), and on-screen activity (top, bareback, safe sex, creampie etc.).

What's the point in supplying their real names, FB profiles, etc.? Not sure how ethical it is, but I guess the guys doing a lot of porn scenes who at the same time are active enough on social media to be visible have got to expect some porn watchers will find out their real names.

I dunno, if word got out that when you do porn you real name is probably going to be added to your porn wiki profile... maybe a lot of guys would think twice. This could undermine the talent pool. We could end up missing out on the hottest guys.

Personally, I'd prefer not to have any of their real names and instead have better porn in the future.

I've seen a tabloid expose a couple of retired porn stars, for no other reason than sell papers and foster homophobic outrage. So if a porn star is open about their identity that's fine but if they wish to use a stage name I think that anonymity should be respected.

But it is a bit annoying when a pornstar has several stage names.

Just goes to show the dangers of social media. Based on nothing more than your appearance, a guess as to your approx age and a vague idea of what country or State you are from... you could be tracked down by some 'fan' trawling through social media search results, and the next thing they turn up at your doorstep with a leering grin and a huge chainsaw.:worried:

Although I admit that I'm curious about the lives of gay porn models after they stop doing gay porn I respect their privacy. Publishing the real names of gay porn models is simply not acceptable.

I don't think the consequences of doing gay porn is something most gay porn models really think through. You have models that are gay and really would like to do gay porn no matter what (simply look at all the amateur content that is being released). Some models need money fast and the gay porn industry can provide them with quick cash. If you need money you don't think about privacy. Some models are 'lured' into the industry by friends or family members and before they know it they have done 10+ scenes for B€l@mi. After the first scene is released they realize that doing gay porn has consequences for their privacy.

In this day and age where social media reigns supreme the real name of a gay porn model sooner or later usually will be out in the open. Will this have a negative consequence on the recruitment of gay porn models? I'm inclined to say no. B€l@mi doesn't seem to have great difficulty in finding new models as does H€lix or Sjawn Kody. People will continue to be eager or in need of money or naïve.

The only solution to this privacy problem is to legally change your name.

I don't know if I need their real name and social media info, but I find I do enjoy the scenes of actors more that I've read a positive article about or seen in an interview expressing their viewpoint. I like learning about the person behind the actor, but only info they want to share. I don't think "exposing" them against their will is a good thing.

I remember we had some discussion on one of the GH subforums on anonymizers and https URL:s & if I remember the main point correctly (not guaranteeing that I do - it was at least a year ago...) it was that SOMETIMES SOME https URLs can cause some problems with SOME anonymizers SOMETIMES.

(Yeah, I know - a lot of "some" and "sometimes"...)
