posted Photocaps cannot be seen

just recently i have had more and more photocaps on posts that cannot be seen by my computer. some entire threads' posts by some posters cannot be seen. I have asked the posters if they have done anything wrong but they say they can see them and it is not their problem. this is what i see on the page-

all i can see is a box with a blue circle and a slash indicating it is not loaded. i have googooled the problem and found no information on why i cannot see the photocaps. it is only photo caps that are not visisble in the thread or post. does anyone know how to fix the problem?:thinking: any help would be greatly appreciated.

And another question: Do you use softwaretools to filter the content of a website? For example adblockers? Perhaps you or the developper of the software blocks loading images from some services.

1. i live in the US.
2. i am guessing but this now occures in about 20% of the posts i visit.

more information.
this has only recently started...perhaps a month and a half.
i have not added any new programs to my computer nor add ons like toolbars etc.
it is occurring more frequently now than when it started.
it is only photocaps...i think, since i cannot know what is not seen.
i have removed all old downloaded files/cookies etc from my internet cache.
i have tried other browsers like Opera and Avant. I cannot use Firefox.
i have contacted 3-4 of the people who made the posts but they do not know what my problem is. they say they can see the photocaps.
I do not usually have that associated with anyother website:worried:

i avoid all software that filter content. lately i have been plagued by Adobe Flash to download the latest versions of their flash but that should not effect photos.
i have had Windows 7 for a year and it has never been a problem

Okay, there are different services, different countrys from the servers and different posters. You don't use filters. We don't know your home country [later edited: sorry you already mentioned it], but because it seems to be a "special" gayheaven problem, it shouldn't been a "filter" of your country for some services.

So another question: Please have a look in your "UserCP" here from GH, especially the "Thread Display Options". Are there any choices you didn't use? Btw. I can see all pictures in the threads you mentioned. Without to be on your PC it is a bit difficult. :thinking:

I hope we will find a solution for the problem.

I looked over the edit options under User CP and threads and saw nothing that i could change to make the "lost photocaps" show up. I do very much appreciate your telling me you could see all the photocaps in the problematical threads i posted. I have discovered by clicking on the symbol i have posted that "STOOORAGE" and two other uploading companys are not available to me (i use IE's "Diagnose PAGE PROBLEM" to do that). I tried to access their URL's directly and could not reach their web pages. Often when i click on the missing photocap i often get no responce whatever.
~X( I am able to get photocaps from most all the other uploading companies. So the big question for me is how is it that i can get most but 2-3 companies are unavailable and all the others are not a problem? and then why for some i get no response at all?X_X

I checked them and could see them all Ok.. Is it just these 2 filehosts, stoorage and winimg that you have problems with?

Which browser are you using - IE8; Chrome; Firefox?.. try switching to another and see if that makes a difference :thinking::thinking::thinking:

I live in the USA. I use IE9. stoorage and winimg are the 2 that i have the biggest problem with but there are some other russian ones too. of course i have stated that some are just plain dead when i double click on the icon. i have used Opera, Avant browsers and have the same problem. i cannot use Firefox.

You tried several browsers, the same thing happened. So it shouldn't be a browser problem (btw. why you can not use firefox?), but something seems to block access to this websites, except from filters in the browsers itself. Do you use a firewall? Please have a look to their options. Perhaps it blocks the content from this sites.

Another option is your ISP. Perhaps it filters some services as "bad" now. So it wouldn't be possible to access to the sites without a proxy e.g. Do you have the chance to use a friends computer, with another or the same ISP? So you could test it. Or you could use a proxy to test their webpages on your own computer.

IE9 is relatively new... if you used IE8 before did you have the problem seeing those hosts?. I can see those s/caps when using IE8, could IE9 - or a setting within it be the problem? :thinking::thinking:

:thumbs up:success! i was able to see the pics. now what? i know that my ISP is blocking my access to the pic hosts.

My computer came with IE9. The problems have started only within the last 2 months or so. i have had Win 7 for a year. i will try to install IE 8 today.
I will tell you how that went tomorrow. thanks for the suggestion. p

i tried Jamoo's proxy and was able to reach the web site with the URL and photos successfully. what do you advise i do since it seems it is my ISP?

i found the problem. 2 months ago my Avant virus guard expired. i decided to change to AVG virus. In desperation today i re-installed Avant and uninstalled AVG. PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbs up::cheers::duh::MANY ,MANY THANKS TO THE GOOD FOLKS WHO RESPONDED WITH HELP HERE. YOU WERE GREAT.
