What I have read so far about it is pretty dissappointing :/ It has no backwards compatibilty with PS1/2/3, no PSN purchases from PS3 Or Vita transfer to PS4 and it focuses heavily on social aspects akin to facebook.
The games look good but so do they on my PC.
I will probably buy it when it has enough RGPs/Non-Shooter Games which could take a while.

It looks very interesting.. Especially with the 8gb ddr5 ram....
i just hope they wont go through with the whole "you cant borrow or rent a game without paying" system
i read that nvidia is not willing to work with them
and that they are planning on an amd proccessor - which might be a bad idea given that amd seem to be on the down

I heard amd is the chip maker for the ps4 but it's also the maker for the upcoming new Xbox too

I did hear the new Xbox will prob have a blu ray drive so they will have to pay Sony for each one lol
One disturbing thing I heard with the new Xbox is they could be releasing a new kinect with it but there are rumours it has to be plugged into the Xbox for the Xbox even to switch on and log in...
The kinect as it can sample faces, the entire room..
If that is the case dunno till they actually release it and say..
On a future note Microsoft has a patent on a device to monitor how many people are in a room watching a film, since public viewings are not allowed...
I am pretty sure Microsoft will focus on Kinect with the Nextbox.
After all there are more casual gamers out there than hardcore gamers.
I mean just look what a success the Wii was. it sold more than Ps3 and Xbox 360 and was the only one of the 3 to sell at profit right from launch so Nintendo made LOTS of money.

Yes but that casual gamer market has moved onto the mobile devices, ios and android. The wii u sales are shockingly bad.
Worse Nintendo doesn't have much if any profit margin on the wii u as it did with the old wii.
I think the next gen market will be more gamers than casual because of the androids and apples.
6 years ago with the last gen launch there were no iPads, no iPhones, no androids... Yes I know shocking to our younger members, a time before phones were smart and u could only send txt's and make what we're they... Oh yes phone calls!
So casual gamers bought their wii's and their ds's and played away, money advantage Nintendo!
Jump to today... People are now buying more expensive phones, tablets and in shrinking global market... New ds sales are not great, the vita sales are.. Well... There's vita sales?? Lol. The wii u as I said isn't selling at all well like Nintendo intended... There's a handful of true wii u games out, the rest well we all own on ps3 or Xbox.
Sales of casual games on ios and androids are soaring.. It's y the wii u wanted to up the graphics and go back after gamers but they are only goin as far last gen, which by Xmas will be obsolete.
If u also look at some stats of the old wii, the average amount of games owned by a wii owner for his/her wii was 1. Most people, most gamers therefore didn't buy games for the machine and u can't turn to game makers afterward and say look at our sales figures for our last machine when u are launching a new concole and the last didn't sell games..
The thing about the kinect is yes it sold huge numbers but again look at some data... The top 10 best selling games for the kinect.. 8 of them are dancing games... How many dancing games can there be before people go emmmm no and this must be plugged in at all times...

Maybe I'm one of the ones who likes to play games on his console and watch movies perhaps on it, be dazzled by awesome gameplay and graphics, love a story and cut scenes, shout fuck u as someone across the content shoots me in the back and perhaps relax afterward by slapping a hdd into it to watch some downloaded porn lol..., not jump up and down by himself at night to a song I must unlock or something (what other form of entertainment charges you to buy it and then forces u to unlock it... The cinema doesn't lol).. Wave in the air by myself..... And wonder if my machine is secretly watching me rub one out as I watch some porn...

Wii U actually doesn't target Casuals as it's main audience. It seems to target pretty much all audiences judging from the game list from GameFaqs. This may explain why it's sales are so bad. The 3DS sells decent in Us and Europe and is actually the best selling gaming device in Japan. (not counting smartphones and Tablets). And Microsoft doesn't really care about it's Games as long as it brings money. Also the main appeal of such games is to play them with friend at home.
I hate to admit it but Games like just dance and Wii sports are insanely fun when played with your friends. And this is something you don't get from Uncharted, God of War or halo nor do Smartphones and Tablets offer such an experience. But alone, I agree those games are stupid

And let's not forget Xbox live, you pay for, yes pay to be online for the privilege to play your games lol not multiplayer but just to install, open each game u buy.....

yeah for always on. worked fine on launchdays of diablo3 and sim city, didn´t it? :rofl:
well for now it is just rumors. and i do not think microsoft would force you to use a gold account for xbox-live. a simple silver account would work fine. on the other hand...
nonetheless always on copyprotection (it is nothing else, no matter what spin the publishers are putting on it) is always wrong. no matter what plattform it is implemented on. once linked to the system you can not unlink the game. so reselling a game is as good as impossible. the secondary market will be as good as dead. great for the publishers. but only for them.
should the rumors be true, then the only way would be to ignore the new xbox completely not matter what games M$ is throwing at us. only by financial disasters will these companies learn (perhaps).
There is also a rumor Microsoft that has to pay money to Sony per system and game sales since their new Xbox will have a blu-ray player. And on top of that they gave Sony info on the kinect so there should be an improvement to the psmove. Still want to know the cost for the PS4. Lets yes what E3 tells us. But will be keeping my PS3 anyway to much time spent just to stop.

Yes you are correct, if the new Xbox has a blu ray drive then since Sony owns the copyright to blu ray, Microsoft must pay Sony for every drive installed and the publishers must pay for every disk manufactured.
This is why the 360 never had a blu ray drive installed as Sony owns it and Sony heavily sold the ps3 with the fact it had blu ray and the "others" didn't.
Microsoft backed the now dead hd-DVD format.

the ps4 will have shitloads of games not available on pc--do you see god of war or uncharted series on the pc I don't think so--the ps4 will rule I preordered mine already neither next gen console will be backwards compatable so not a biggie there--ps3 I will sooner or later buy a xbox one--I got a ps3 and xbox 360 right now plus the ps vita so I will more than likely get one sooner or later but ps4 is first on my list

Meh, I'm a PS fan, nothing against Microsoft, but that's just what I like. I won't be getting a PS4 though. i"m going to wait until they have a good backing of games, maybe after a year or so after launch. Only games I'm looking forward to are Dark Souls 2 and the new Infamous.
