My first dog's name was Maybelle. She was a beagle.

Over the years most of my dogs have had names that ended in 'i', 'y' or 'ie'

It just seems easier to call them up when it ends in an 'ee' sound.

We have 3 beagles right now - Lucy, Bobbi and Patty - the love is so thick around here you could cut it with a knife, lol.

Lucy and Bobbi were originally going to be Lucy & Ethel ... but my mother said 'You can't name that dog Ethel!' So we changed it to Bobbi ... my mother's sister's name - my mother's name was Lucy and whenever I call up the girls for dinner my mother and her sister come to mind.

Give her a good name that will please her as well as yourself

I have mostly cats, but also 2 black lab females named Daisy and Lucy. I think Lucy is one of the best female dog names.

We had a Brandy (she was the color of brandywine) once. I like Ranna, or Mai, or you could go weird and something like "Cat" or simply "You."
