I did like the U.S. version--it was well made and used the lives of it's characters to explore many issues in the gay community. When I was about 15 and it first began to air, I was drawn to it. However, I really couldn't stand Micheal's mother.

never watched the US version only the UK version which was pretty short. it was good while it lasted though. the ending was a little weird though lol

US version seems too long..maybe when i'm really bored haha

I loved both versions, US and UK. Ultimately, I bought both on DVD. Being from the
US, sometimes the slang in the UK version went over my head. In comparison, though,
I'd say the US version actors were hotter.

I found the UK series titillating because it seemed very daring to be on tv. However, once you've seen it, it's less exciting. Doesn't do it for me anymore and I didn't think the American series was as good as the UK one but that may be because I saw the UK one first. If it had been the other way around...who knows...?

I actually preferred the US version . I balked at the thought of it , here we go another remake, but once they'd got past the beginning of the story which almost parralled the UK version then it opened up to wider things. Effectively it became a soap to a point.

I started to forget the British original , and the writer was involved in both. I seem to remember him saying that the US version was the one he wanted to make.

I haven't seen all of it, but enjoyed it up to where I stopped. Get a bit jaded when a series goes on too long.

Funny thing is, although it's supposed to be in Pittsburgh, it was actually filmed in Toronto. And much of what you see is the gay street (Church Street). Also I used to go often to "Babilon", which is a club called FLY.

i like the relationship btwn brian and michael.. also between emmet and ted.. everything about justin was a mistake.. not fond of the "twink" character, kinda like flawed the whole series.. there was actually one twink that's really hot.. Blake played by Dean Armstrong..

Justin in the U S version is actually Gay. The U S version is really great that is why I purchased the whole series. I really love all the character's in the series. Anybody have a comment about the U S version.

I actually adored both versions, but the US version holds a much more special place in my heart. When it first aired, I had never seen anything like it before and it held me in for all five seasons. A lot of people seem to put it down, which is sad; it broke so much ground in television history and even though it was based in fiction, a lot of things could've easily reflected in our own lives.

I saw the complete UK series in full once the US version had ended and although somewhat different and such a weird ending, it definitely had it's great points as well. I think the Brian/Justin love story is one of the most entertaining I ever got to witness while still maintaining quite a bit of beauty. :heart:
