it looks like with new rules rapidshare may be cheaper than all the others so perhaps posters may consider it to host their files.

Yeah the nex concept in not really nice, but more and more money user, try sharingmatrix... i do not like, only a hoster for money generating, they not think for free User.

Hope in future, more use use hotfile.

I've read about its new strategy and I don't know what kind of exact consequences this will bring but on a first sight - I think RS is saying goodbye to heavy uploaders. :worried:

But what will this means for RS existence - is remained to be seen.

Rapidshare has changed significantly. Have you guys noticed that? Hmm I think we should discuss this. The fact is that Rapidshare accounts are not time limited anymore. There is no date until your RS account is valid. Now it's all about so called Rapids. Amount of them is slowly decreasing regardless if you download anything or not. I'm not sure I understand the whole concept of these changes. I uploaded one pic series yesterday to test RS. There have been 35 downloads, but no points at all. It's a total confusion to me. I noticed some discussions elsewhere. People are massively saying goodbye to RS.

Is that true? What are your experiences with these latest changes?

RapidShare deleted the access to my upload. I think that they are also going to eliminate my files. I pass on Hotfile.

Guess this means we wont get anymore points when people download our files

I had got around 900000 points and gifted 800000 to friends and made a 1-year account for myself. Guess I have to look around for a new hoster. But it was fun while it lasted:thumbs up:

Yea, you're right my friend! You've made many guys hear happy! :thumbs up: But now we don't have one year or half a year or one month accounts any more. They re-calculated the length of our accounts into Rapids. Our accounts will last until all Rapids are used. After that I guess we'll have to extend the account with credit cards again. If you have any rapidpoints left you can still change them into Rapids to prolong your own account now. You just extend your own account for a month (or a year if you can) and they will recalculated it into more rapids for you.

I have set all my 6 rs accounts to the lowest level i.e. 1 gb download for 4 rapids per day. So I will dl 6 gb dl daily. If I want to do more dl any day, I will change one or more of the accounts to a higher dl only for that day. I have calculated that I can dl as before for the next 1 year without having to pay anything. I am sure something else will come-up during next year.

If anyone has any idea of other hosts offering same facilities like rapid points please let us know.

Actually you don't have to change it manually to a higher level. They do that automatically if you accede your daily download limit. I just realized that. Because they changed me to a higher level. Now they take 20 Rapids away from me daily. :rolling eyes:

I think all the other hosts offer some kind of points to motivate users. The main question to me is which host ranks the best. But I guess the time will show. Currently I guess Hotfile is the winner.

Hello,

RS opened me a premium account. So much the better for all those who will take pleasure to download my files as long as they remain available. But the new system is very complex, it is the even worse when we do not master English, regrettably. Anyway, I refuse a system conceived as a gearing towards the credit card, on principle. It is not worth it. And even less to spend time managing points! I laugh at it completely.

I hope this revolution of Rapidshare.com is a good pattern to other upload sites like megaupload.com , filefactory , hot file and ... .
