i dunno in other countries, but in spain your id card says how many people have your name and surname. Six years ago we were eight ******** ******** [i have a double name and in spain we have two surnames]. The thing is that last year i had to renovate it and the number had changed. In five years, there were five less.... Its a bit worring, maybe the next year i could disappear 8D

Well, I just had to analyze the situation Hammer :)...There are 12 Gavins in the local phone book...there are another 14 McGavins, 6 O'Gavins and 1 Gayvin (probably a rude attempt at discredditing my unnatural lifestyle ). Of the 33 "gavin" types, there are just 2 Joes. WTF is that? Where have all the good Joes gone? X_X...and since my name is now public any stalkers are now welcome :-*

I was once arrested after a traffic stop on an outstanding felony warrant. Turned out they had the wrong guy, the guy they were looking for had the same first and last name as me as well as the same middle initial, his social security number was one digit different than mine and his address was two blocks away from mine on the same street. This might not be so funny if I had a common name like John Smith, but I have a very unique and very German name. I wanted to go and meet this guy, but by the time the police realized their mistake and released me, they had already arrested him... :?

That is freaky, even the SSN is close. I think in your situation I'd demand penance from the men representing the law to show me the doppelganger.

And to think my dad was a State Trooper, and my uncle is a judge...

Honestly, with the above exceptions, my family has a very tense history with the law. My grand father was a thief and murderer, and was a suspected hit man for the mob, Another uncle was one of the most prolific cat burglars in this part of the country, and his cousin helped introduce meth to the mid-west. And yet another uncle escaped custody 30 yrs. ago when he was granted a furlough from prison to attend his mothers funeral, and has yet to be captured.

From the moment I started driving and got pulled over the first time, I've been on the police radar. If only to ask me if I know anything of what my uncles or cousins are up to lately, or if I've heard where the fugitive might be hiding...

It's like being one of the Gotti boys, but without the fame, fortune, power, and connections...:(

Luckily I haven't had that problem. :) Well least my cousin and uncle and my deceased brother had "Timothy" in their name.
