Hi Guys

So what do you think about Samsung's new flagship smartphones Galaxy Note 5 & S6 Edge+? which was officially announced and revealed at 2015 2nd Unpacked event in New York city yesterday

* For those who didn't watch the event, Here is a YouTube video of the Note 5 & S6 Edge+ Unpacked event :)

Personally i don't like where Samsung is going with there flagship Smartphones currently, No SD card and No Battery Removal:( too much like an iPhone, so I'm sticking with My fantastic beautiful:x Note 4 because of this, however i like the new design these 2 smartphones have, looks very sleek and sexy.

Too big and heavy. I already have 7" tablet for couch and coffee shop reading. Why would I want giant phone?

My issue with these phones is 3-fold:

1) Android's fundamentally broken security model - When a security problem is found in an iPhone Apple fix it, release an update, and users get it straight to their phones. Done!

In contrast, when a security problem is found in Android, Google fix it, send it to the manufacturers to merge into their customised version of the OS, they then send it to the carriers to merge in their crap, and they finally send it to the user. BUT, many carriers never bother, because, well, they have your money, why would they waste time and energy patching an OS for a phone they sold you a year ago, or two years ago? Also, Samsung add EXTRA security problems with their own modifications that make their phones less secure. The recent example with their dangerously insecure version of the great swype keyboard leaps to mind as a recent example.

Imagine if Dell and your ISP had to approve updates from Microsoft before they got to your computer - that's Android!

2) build quality - compared to an iPhone, Samsung phones are so cheap-feeling. They don't feel strong and robust, they feel cheap and brittle.

3) I need my phone to easily fit in my pocket and be usable single-handedly with my relatively small hands.

This is totally a personal thing, not a general criticism.

I have a big desktop computer (27" iMac) which I use a lot, then I have a 10" tablet which is always in my bag, and then I have my smartphone (an iPhone 5). I would get absolutely no benefit from a phabelt - my iPad is a better tablet than a phablet could ever be, and my iPhone is a better phone than any phablet could ever be.

Now, if I didn't have a 10" tablet, I could see the appeal of a phablet. I could tollerate giving up single-handed use, and put up with the discomfort of having something so big in my pocket because the bigger screen would add value to my life. So, for people who don't have room for a phone AND a tablet, this size of device makes a heck of a lot of sense.

If you care about security, and if you appreciate good build quality, an iPhone 6+ is an infinitely better choice than anything Samsung make.

B.

When it comes to cell phones, I'm a guy from the stone age...

I've got a Nokia 1208, very small and very simple thing. Expensive smartphones ? Thanks but no thanks...
