I'm not sure if this is the right thread (or forum) to ask this question, but if it is inappropriate, I'm sure administrators will move or remove the post as they see fit. Let me also clearly state my intentions. I am not here to judge or criticize anyone's post. It is not my place to do so. I love this forum as much as the rest of you or else I wouldn't be here.
Recently I downloaded a webcam video in the amateur section with two participants that seemed awfully young. Normally I look at the screenshots to determine if I want to download or not (as I'm sure most of us do). But the screenshot was so small and when I clicked on it, what came up seemed to be loaded with ads and spyware. So I "X"ed out and continued on. I used VLC to play the downloaded video and as I said the participants seemed a bit too young for my taste. I wouldn't have downloaded it at all if I could have accessed the screenshot with a bit more ease.
Please understand, I am not judging anyone's taste or how they post. I don't have that right. I do NOT cam so I don't know the regulations (meaning age requirements, etc.). I simply ask, can we have SCs that are easily accessible so that one can easily determine what is being downloaded? I hope no one takes offense to this question or my post..

I recently had 2 of those "hi-jack scam" problems where my laptop was frozen after clicking on small screenshots. You know the sort of thing, a message saying Microsoft has detected a virus infection and you must phone this number to get your computer unfrozen. To avoid any re-occurrences I no longer try to enlarge small screenshots, I ignore the post and move on. This might mean I'm missing a great clip but I don't want the aggravation

the same happened to me - and as you, from that time on I'll ignore as well these small screenshots and posts.

Members are encouraged to use the Report tool
report.gif
to alert staff of problem hosts or other issues. You will find the
report.gif
in the lower left corner of every post.

Without example posts of the problem host we cannot work to find a solution.

I would have reported those but by the time I had forced a shut down of the laptop, rebooted in safe mode and then spent about an hour running all anti-virus/anti-malware & malicious software removers to ensure the bastards had not left anything lurking I had forgotten which screenshots/d/loads they were~X(~X(~X(~X ... but as I surf GH today I will report small screenshots (

To be clear the issue raised in the OP was not "small screenshots" but image hosts with hyper-aggressive ads. I've been caught in those temporal causality loops used by some hosts myself and I know how frustrating and potentially dangerous they can be. So be specific about the problem when reporting posts.

I understand your point but given the problems I've had with the hyper-aggressive ads and malware I will not take the chance of opening anything if it's too small. The posts I reported might have perfectly safe screencaps, but I'm not going to risk clicking them to find out. If the pic host has the option (like Pimp&host and others do for instance) to show a larger size of caps them it might be better for all if the poster chooses a larger size?

As the original poster of this thread, may I add that my concern was both small screen caps and aggressive ads/spyware. Again, I am simply trying to clearly state my intentions..
