Funny thread. I would say just try. It was somewhere in the early sixties that I discovered a photo with boys in Bermuda swim shorts - board shorts -. I liked them very much, but it seemed impossible to buy them in The Netherlands in those days. So I decided to make my own ones. Never sewed -in that way- before, but everything has a first time. I did the sewing -and that will not surprise you- by hand. It is not difficult, just a lot of work. The difficult part is to create the model. Humans tend to be three dimensional and your design is two dimensional. Trial and error did the job. At the end I had my own, hand made, fantastic fitting yellow board shorts! The only, but major mistake I made was the material. The old curtain material had a bad resistance to water. So my beautiful creation died young. So sad.
