the Celsius scale bases on the freezing point and the boiling point of water... a really logical scale... and then there's the scale that uses the coldest temperature in Gdansk in the winter of 1708/1709, the freezing point of water and the human body temperature... pardon me... where's the logic in that?

move down to florida hammer:) would love that:D

we have only two seasons....winter: 35 degree Fahrenheit = 1.6666667 degree Celsius to 80 degree Fahrenheit = 26.6666667 degree Celsius:p

then summer: 90 degree Fahrenheit = 32.2222222 degree Celsius to 98 degree Fahrenheit = 36.6666667 degree Celsius

havent seen ice on anything other than the freezer in a long time:p hehe

I would love to move there,,,, if I had a job there.
I hate the cold and winter. Every year it gets hard to go through the 6 months of cold and snow.

In the last week here it has been either 5-10°C or directly 22-25°, so I can understand hammer... seriously, it's frustrating!

Not 100% acurate but a useful near enough guide - to convert to Farenheit double the figure and add 30, so 20 degrees X 2 = 40 + 30 = 70

Obviously to convert the other way minus 30 and halve ;)

My, my... no point getting all hot and bothered over systems of measurement...

Usually "it's quite warm", "phew", "cold enough" etc. convey the message... without the need for precise calculations! I always imagined that much of the weather forecasting on US TV revolved around pretty weather girls and little stickers on the map that read "phew!" etc. Now who would bother with the math! That said, to be fair to the USA, some would say that the 'Colonies' were part of an effort to export and preserve the BEST of Western European culture! ;)

Your comment made me laugh.
When it's super cold or super hot, it's common for people to pass by someone and say "cold enough for ya?" or "hot enough for you", and the proper response is always, "oh, yea, it sure is damn cold/hot". So I always screw with people who say that to me? And mind you everyone asks it like it's the first time anyone has ever asked that of anyone. If you live in the midwest, then you probably know what I mean.
So anyway when someone asks me "hot enough for ya?", I respond, "no, can ya turn it up a bit". And walk away.
It's really funny when the person stands there with a dumbfounded look on their face.
