On the one hand, it's a pitty it had to come from the courts. More than half of Americans support gay marriage, America like to think of itself as a representative democracy, so why could the representatives of the people not get this done through the legislature? (because American democracy is VERY sick).
On the other hand, thank goodness the founding fathers had the foresight to have separate branches of government, including a judiciary with the task of protecting EVERYONE'S rights, not just those of the majority.
Seeing the White House all rainbowed up is really nice, congrats to all Americans here, you must be very happy today!
