haha?

Did you see the gashes in the poor boy's leg? Great to see the cat save the boy from even more harm, but, I didn't see anything funny in that clip.

B.

Latest on the dog (a Labrador-Chow crossbreed) is that it maintained aggressive behaviour after being taken to the pound and has been put-down/euthanised.

Brave cat and very protective. The boy was not even encroaching on the dog's territory.

If youre a cat person, as opposed to a dog person, every cat is awesome. Every cat is strong, courageous and intelligent. And fast!, it was the speed at which she shot into action that was so amazing. Thank you Tara for making today a cat lovers day.

It shows the difference between cats and dogs.

Cats can be trained a little. But mostly they socialize on their own terms. They can be difficult sometimes, but it's mostly knocking something over, or wrecking the drapes.

Dogs need training. Mostly they love training. Teach them...and they will learn. Socialize them, and they will learn that.

If you can't be bothered, get a cat. Pet it, hang out with it, meet it's basic needs.
Don't get a dog. This is often the result. An unsocialized dog who causes trouble, gets into trouble, and is now dead.

I have been a cat owner for over 35 years...and at present have 5 that are my companions. Cats ARE very independent, though even without extensive training, they learn and adapt to the lifestyle of their human owners. I am not at all surprised at the protectiveness of Tara, as quite a few cats I have had over the years were very protective, growling at mailman, and letting me know when someone was about to knock at the door. My first cat even chased a raccoon away when it came meandering into my yard. And raccoons can kill a cat quite effortlessly. While I love dogs, I find THEM too needy. Cats will seek affection, but in their own way on their own terms.

I've had both dogs and cats and love them both. The real difference between them is that dogs have owners and cats have servants. ;)

Kudos to Tara for her timely rescue and hats off to slimjim for sharing the video!:thumbs up:

We had a cat in my teens who would not tolerate dogs in HER yard. She would jump on their backs, begin wailing and clawing and ride them to the property line then jump off. How she defined what territory was hers, I don't know since dogs were "permitted" in the street and other yards. Even the chow down the street avoided our yard.
