teach me how to talk to ppl..
i dont know how to start a conversation, and even i can start it, it will end in a sec =(

It's not something that can be taught.

You have to have an interest , to some point, in who you're talking to and then just relax. The best way is to add me or another friend here on MSN or Skype and talk with the mic. Practise with those you know & trust, and someone who won't dismiss you immediately.

It's not an uncommon problem, many don't know how to converse properly, but it's something you gain better from experience

The fact that you're replying shows that there is potential in you maintaining a conversation with someone.

Sadly, I talk so much I try to avoid getting myself into conversation some times lol.

If youre speaking to somoene physically, I think it is always good to observe your surroundings and you can build a conversation from random things like..
"Where'd you get that top?"
"What book are you reading there?"
"Have you been here before?"
"Isn't this place quite nice?"
"What an awful weather we had this week"
"Are you into sports"
"Soooooo, what do you do for a living?"

A great trick is being selfish. Speak about something that interests you, it's what we chatty people do best.

Just to be yourself , even peoples feel that you are not special to talk , but they will understand that you are so naturally to be yourself . I am not so good in conversation too , you will make real friends by the way you are , you can not make real friends by the way that you force yourself to change yourself . Just be nature .

I have no idea if he bats for the same side as me. But dont know how to start a conversation with him when ever I see him. I do see him with other people just stopped in the corridor and pass them.

THIS is probably the reason I'm so lonely in life .

Sad I know but I do spend a lot of my time/life here at GH. Keeps me occupied. No idea what I would do with my self if this place was not here. Yer I know getting a life, but with me been so shy and stuff just does not help

Honestly? I'm even worse...
The situation you described just keeps happening to me... There's a student, one year younger than me, hot enough to get a lot of people here drooling, and even when I could have talked to him thanks to a uni exam, I just couldn't, and every time I see him I kinda regret it....
But my shyness reaches a different level: I can't make phone calls... :blushing::blushing:
Only relatives and people calling me, but even my best friend has never received a phone call from me, and the first time I met him was 8 years ago, always texts and emails, maybe a couple of short calls made by him... These past couple weeks I've actually wanted to call him, but I kept blocking as I reached for my phone.....~X(


Still, Casanova and wowfish are right... I kept being myself and I made a few friends at the university, which is quite a miracle for me...
