I send the odd text on my cell-phone, but have no interest in either facebook or twitter. E-mail is very useful.
A friend uses twitter a lot and it seems to me that most of the 'tweets' people leave for him could just as easily have been emailed to him, in private. And of course he could then reply to any email -it's more private. So it seems then that a major aspect of twitter vs. just email, is that tweets can be public so if you have a lot of tweets you can broadcast how popular you are...
That's fair enough, I don't necessarily criticize anyone, but I hanker after the old days when things seemed more private. One up-side of twitter and the like is that anyone can broadcast their ideas, the flow of their life, their thoughts and opinions, which can be good in terms of freedom of speech.:thinking:
As with most things in life 'pros and cons'.
I am old enough to remember the days when a great deal of communication happened by way of the post.
There is something more authentic about getting a physical letter from someone?
