Hi Guys:

I hope everything is good with you all...

I wanted to bring this topic for discussion on the forum that evolved into a discussion while I was having dinner over the weekend with some friends. You see, I was watching a show not too long ago where a college student was quite upset over the fact that someone had made a video from their cell phone while she was out partying at a club. What upset her was that things got pretty raunchy where she began to flash certain body parts as well as tonguing and grinding one of her girlfriends on the dance floor.

This video was posted on certain websites and some of her family members had saw it and began to complain about her behavior which she was humiliated and embarrassed about. The student felt that she should have been able to press charges against the individual who had recorded this video on their cell phone. However, the moderator of the show had informed her that there was nothing that could be done because many cell phones have this feature and if a certain behavior is displayed in public or a private setting that the individual needs to be very careful of what is being presented for display.

One friend had mentioned that his cousin how disappointed and shocked when she was presented with a video of her boyfriend getting freaky with another guy at a gay bar without his knowledge especially when he had been considered straight. Another friend had mentioned that he had been taped having sex with a guy without his knowledge and the guy sent the video out to various sites as well.

I believe that there are pros and cons to having this feature on your cell phone due to the fact of this very same reason of individuals either taking your picture or recording a video of you without your knowledge and posting them for display. I was having lunch one day last week and I notice a lady at one of the tables trying to be unnoticeable, but was taking pics of me with her phone.

Therefore, I wonder what is your opinion? How do you feel about this? As always, thanking you in advance for taking time to either read or post a response. JW:thumbs up:

Totally understand the concern here... as I have been victim of one of those cell phone... when I party I party hard so does Alex and it did happen that one day Alex and I were completely drunk and while dancing it turns into a very very dirty dancing and yep we were drunk (I might add) Alex gave me a head and pictures and videos were taken and posted on few gay websites... Now we're not hiding ourselves as gay couple but I'm a CEO... although I post picture here... and that you know that my nick name is Jake and Alex it could be anyone... but those picture captions had my real name and Alex name as well... lucky enough we had tips on the person who took the pictures and videos and with a good menace from our lawyer he had to go back to all those site and request a take down and if the site refused we would have gone against them as well... so sorry there's no more pictures of Jake and Alex getting dirty on a dance floor... and people will think twice before re-posting them as we will run after them with bricks and guns

The interesting part is that Alex and I are very open sexually and we used to be on Cam 4 but at least we had control over what we wanted people to see. Now everyone can take a picture of anybody in any given situations... that's kind of scary.

Thank you Jake for sharing your story...

My sister was telling me last night that this woman came into her department at work and was talking to one of her co-workers about how much she looked like her husband's mother-in-law. What freaked her co-worker out was that the woman added that she took pictures of her with her cell phone a couple of days ago and sent them to her husband so that he can see the resemblance.

After the woman left, her co-worker freaked out over the fact that this woman took her pictures without her consent. As you've mentioned in your response about your situation, it does get kind of scary especially if you are having sex with someone that you are just getting acquainted with and all of a sudden, you began to draw concern in regard of whether they are recording what is taken place.

How about locker rooms and cell phones? They may be "banned", but people use them all the time.
Exposing people doing hard partying, dirty dancing, etc. is pretty bad....but a guy who works out, showers, and goes home and has cock and ass photos put out there? That's a very nasty violation of someone's person.

It's certainly become a problem with the availability of cameras...
But isn't there a law or something against this? Taking photographs of/filming someone else without their consent, and then publish the video/photo on the net where this person in question is the main focus is a violation of a person's integrity. One should be able to press charges against the person who took the picture...

It is scary how availability of technology very often is a threat to privacy.
With any behavior in public places - there is no issue at all: if you do something in public do not whine if it was recorded and disseminated. Nothing changed - you only got a bigger audience :)
It is much worse when we think we are in private and then someone takes photos and makes them public. I guess in such cases there is a plain case for violation of privacy.

That said, - and this is an old fart talking - technology advanced, manners retreated. It used to be a norm to ask a person for permission before one took their pictures.

I am perhaps younger than you are, but I do remember the time when people would ask to take your picture, and they would also leave you with the information where your picture can be found. Today forget about it... ones picture gets spread all over the world and roams the Internet forever and will come back hunting you at a time you expect it the least. My dude is a model and although I have been able to have some of his modeling picture taken down because they were used in very questionable websites, there's many others roaming the net. In fact anyone can take a picture of my Alex and search it with that TineEye plug in for Mozilla Browsers and they'll find some of them in many other websites... but asking to take it down is like asking for the impossible... some website owners just don't give a fuck and post their DMCA disclaimer just as a decoration.

There are laws but from a city to another city, from a country to another country law changes... pressing charges can sometimes be more time consuming than just let people forget about it.

Despite my age I adore modern communication Technics. It seems to offer an endless source of information. Technical information (your washing machine is broken, just go to the internet and you find all the necessary schedules and information), but also social information (I am a great fan of history). But from the beginning I hated mobile phones. The freedom they offer demands a price, your privacy. I hate to be disturbed when I am working or thinking. And I work a lot and I think a lot. Some years ago my kids gave me a mobile for my birthday. When I actually could use it, it did not function. I did not know that you should use that machine at least once in three or four month. You see, I am not a great phone user. Yet I have a perfect social network, but mine is vis a vis.
Of course it would be good to make laws about the use of phones to protect privacy. But will it help? The damage may be done anyway.
Cell phones, a pact with the devil, ha, ha.
O my God, I really get old|!

I actually would want to know why people put such photos or video clips on the internet?
Do they want Likes on their Facebook page? Do they want to humiliate the victims?
I really don't understand that. Doing such things could ruin a person's life
