But what does it mean to be offended? What are the connotations? To be angry? To retaliate? I think it is unrealistic to expect Christians to all be like Jesus... they would all be exploited for their weakness, and basically strung up on a cross! So maybe offended is the wrong word. But can we not become 'highly indignant'. This doesn't just apply to Christians, but to all of us. So many horrors in the world just slip by us, ignored. When we see corruption, greed, engineered banking crises... can we maybe disconnect our bums from the sofa and do something about it, by feeling 'highly indignant'. I am sure saying that you are 'offended' is no longer politically correct, brings into question your mental stability and might even mean you are a 'terror-ist' (with the W. Bush Texan drawl!). Terror? What's wrong with basically being pissed off at all the political and economical corruption in our countries.
So that is the flaw in Christianity... to never be offended is to be a fool. Maybe in heaven it is okay, but here on planet earth, boy do we need to get 'highly indignant'!
