In The Netherlands we have an expression “time heals all wounds” (probably you have in English the same expression). This is a nice example of misusing the term time. What they actually want to say is, that if you have the patience to wait, all wounds will heal. It is an old saying and sounds therefore as wisdom, but unfortunately it is nonsense. Not all wounds heal self. A lot of wounds need special care and some wounds never heal.
When your heart feels pain, there must be a wound, physically or mentally. It needs courage, but it is wise, to trace the wound, because if the pain does not disappear there is a possibility that special care or even focused attention can help.
