The opening lines of one of Auden's famous poems:

Time will say nothing but I told you so,
Time only knows the price we have to pay;
If I could tell you I would let you know.

Time does will tell but we also have to move or making action to make the time move also.
Simple example is, when you want hit some guys. If you only just looking at him at the distance, he wouldn't know that you had a crush on him. He might consider you as a weird stalker. But if you tell him you might know his feeling to you, either he accept it or no. That was my definition of time will tell, to act and make the time move.

Time does not tell all, experience does. You can live up to 150 years and still not understand half the mysteries of life compared to someone who's lived 10 years and have experienced myriad days in turmoil mixed with bliss.

A while ago I wrote a poem about time. But is in Dutch of course. Thanks to this forum I am able to write in English, but to translate a poem you need a lot more skill. I will start with the text in Dutch. Therefore you should know that timeless in Dutch is tijdloos. Tijd is time and loos is in fact very old Dutch and actually means "not what it seems to be". So a beautiful word to use in a poem.

Tijd

Tijd is loos,
vervliegt ontastbaar,
gedachten worden herinneringen,
die morgen vergeten zijn.

In English:

Time

Time is elusive,
evaporates intangible,
thoughts become memories,
that will be forgotten tomorrow.

You see, not the right nice words in English.

Beautiful poem.

Time destroys illusions but brings maturity and wisdom too. So I think it just changes the way we look at things and, of course, therefore people.

I am a total believer that time does tell all. Lately, I've been in the company of two guys who are supposedly straight and what is so curious to me is that they both tend to argue this with me although I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt, even though I can tell there is more there than meets the eye.

Therefore, I say..time will tell and the truth will be revealed. But it's up to them as to how long they want to play the "denial card"

In Proust's Remembrance of Things Past, time eventually revealed everything but that's fiction. In life, it is kind of open ended.
