Tired of Coming Out?

Sometimes I get so tired of coming out and because of my work have to remain pretty closeted. When I do make friends, there comes the time for "the talk", and more often than not, someone I thought was a friend bails out on me. I've already pretty much given up on finding love, but it's getting to the point that I'm giving up on having friendships.

Don't mean to be a downer. Really don't expect answers. Just thought I'd put it out there.

Really sorry to hear you feel this way. You should do whats just right for you, but never give up on making new friends. Life is full of hurt and people who will never understand, but always remember there are people out there who would appreciate you for being you!

True friends don't care, they take you as you are, you don't have to prove anything!

hmm. what can I say. Try to change your work and your companion. Yeah I know It's much easier to say than to do ... but it would be effective solution.

I live in a bit of a self imposed exile from human contact (except from my familiy AKA my mom) as well. I too gave up on love and friendship for the time being. I live in a very homophobic country... so I prefer to be by myself than expose myself to be target of violence. Here in México, (most) people even celebrate when a "faggot" is killed. It really is frightening.

Back to the topic: Solitude can be a heavy burden, but also very liberating and enlightening. At leats the way I see it. I can only say to you, this experience will either destroy you or enrich you as a person. I'm aiming for the latter... and you?

Don't let this bitterness consume you. You will find friends and someone to love. Mark my words, for they are prophecy.

BTW: I have the feeling everything I said will *sound* very simplistic and perhaps even shallow or corny, but believe me when I say: "I've been in a similiar situation and I'm still kickin´!". Also... You need to put yourself out there. A heart that's afraid of breaking, never learns to dance. Love yourself and everything will fall into the right place.
