Yeah, pisses me off too, Josh. It's in the way their servers retain your IP address without purging their user-side RAM often enough. Of course, it never happens once you buy even the cheapest subscription to any of the download sites. They all have that problem, except for Mega Upload. Once your download is done, you can start another immediately. At one time, even the free membership accounts could do multiple parallel downloads, but that seems to have disappeared.

Yeah, know that issue all too well. It's a pre-configured time out imposed on your IP address, and it's variable depending on how big the file was that you tried to download, and the state of their network - busy or idle.

I have discovered that when their server seems to think you are still downloading the best thing to do is to close your browsers and clear the caches then reboot. Me I use CCleaner by Piriform, which is easy to find with a simple Google search. Then I open up a new page and try again. Usually it works.

That works if their server id is cookie based, as CCleaner will quickly cleanse cache and cookies. However, Filehost appears to be IP address based, so no amount of ram cleaning will change things. If you are on ADSL, logging off and back on in a minute or two often gets you a new IP address, and that would make a difference.

If you cleaned out the cache and cookies (temp files of where you were and your surfing prefs), and restarted with no luck, then your IP address is locked and may take a while to reset. Try getting that free program C Cleaner (stands for Crap Cleaner) by Piriform. Google it and take the download and install it. It's very safe and very effective. I've used it for several years with excellent results. Even if it won't get you a quicker download from the FH site, CCleaner is a good thing to run several times a day when using the internet and downloading. It helps keep your machine clear of stuff that otherwise can affect your speed of operation, and it does remove stuff for privacy purposes.

Vaitape is not on Tahiti Island but on the Bora Bora islands. We don't have the same services as they do on Moorea or Tahiti islands. We are the Earth's Paradise here.

Indeed, I stand corrected. I knew the area as "French Polynesia" a long time ago, and thought that it was now all known as Tahiti and had the same infrastucture.

If money and time were plentiful, I'd want to spend a few months there, having heard of the beauty (natural and male) of the area. Sadly, no go just now. Maybe one day before I wither to dust and rejoin the earth. You're fantastically fortunate, Nilstreet. I am so envious in a friendly way.

A few months would be quite expensive. Not really the cost of the hotel as much as the awful prices in the tourists traps which surround the island. Ten days, it is the average time people spend here.

If I were to travel that far to enjoy a place, I would have the money in hand to stay as long as I cared to, whether 10 days or 10 months. You certainly lucked out in that gift of travel that ended up as gainful employment.

So it might very well happen someday that I get to tell you that I am currently managing... let's say... the Château Laurier! Or maybe I would rather work at the Château de Montébello. Though I'd need to go through your immigration laws, which was not the case for me here, since I am and always have been a resident of France.

That would be delightful, as both grand hotels are a short drive from my home. If you've studied anything about Canada, you know that we are officially bilingual. Le Château de Montébello reste toujours au Québec; et la Province du Québec - c'est presque 100% Francophone.... et c'est un voyage court à travers un des nombreux ponts d'ici au côté du Québec (du fleuve) où Montebello se trouve. Immigration would be a snap for you if you have a committment of employment from a hotel or similar hospitality institution. Your language skills alone would make you a desireable talent for anyone to acquire.
