A few years ago 'Real Touch' launched a vr sex machine that was technicaly advanced but never got far. Greed killed the project, you had to watch the films as an expensive pay per view, which put off those porn fans who dont like getting fleeced.
As the system was breathing its last they tried to revieve it by making the film coding open source but it was too late, the world moves on.
The format we are talking about today is quite different from that because it has many other uses than porn, Real Touch cant be used for anything else except masturbation.
It's great for role playing games and educational videos for example. If the many other uses the equipment has are of interest to you then go ahead, then if porn in that format takes off its a bonus feature.
But to use the hardware only for porn is a big gamble, the supply of films in that format might never go bigtime, then youd be left stranded. Although you can still watch a non 3d movie on a 3d headset and imagine its in 3d.
