Waxing/Shaving the package, advice?

So my father is basically a bear, gross to think about but true, I inherited little of this until you get below the belt where I go from being smooth to ridicu-hairy. So I've been toying with shaving.

Tried a normal razor which somehow does nothing, not even shave me, but does cut me to ribbons no matter how gently I press.

Bought an electric body shaver and this does the job more or less but not completely. Leaves lots of short hairs behind, which is fine except for on my actual cock, where I actually have spare hairs from top to bottom.

So I've decided that waxing is the next thing to try. Due to there being a lack of places that do such things professionaly I decided to look into home kits and strips etc but looking around online it's kind of off puting. Just about every thing waxing related I find has reviews ranging from "I bruised so much I had to go the hospital" to "ok, I guess, but get a partner to help". Due my other half being behind bars (I know, I'm so white trash right now) I'm alone in this.

So thought anyone out there who waxes or shaves could give me some advice? Really not getting much luck.

I'm more of the trimmer, but for close shaving (like the cock shaft), a foil shaver works well. I have a philips Norelco body shaver. One side is adjustable trimming; the other side is a foil shaver.
Don't worry too much about getting it perfect. It will start growing back the next day!

I like the natural look, too. Although I must admit that I do trim, and I shave my balls just because I like the extra sensitivity when a guy sticks his face in there and holds them in his mouth.
