I think it's a disgrace how little respect the western world has for our elders - I don't know of any other society in history that treated them so badly and squandered their wisdom like our society does now. We need to listen to what they have to say, or we'll be doomed to repeat past mistakes

The stereotype of elders are cynical and conservative towards any taboos happening in the status qua, I vie for people that are audacious to purge their suppressed and hidden desires and express them especially in their golden age.

I give a lot of respect to elders in so many ways. Last year, I was running errands at the shopping area in my neighborhood and it was pretty cold outside at the time. I saw a very elderly woman trying to cross the street before the traffic light changed to green. I immediately ran up to the woman and asked her if I could assist her with crossing the street and not to worry, I am not out to cause harm to her in any kind of way. She looked up at my face, and then she smiled and took hold of my arm. I told her to take her time and if traffic starts up, I will stop them with a notion of my hands. What I found somewhat surprising was the some of the drivers began to blow their horns but only to applaud me for being so considerate to the elderly woman. I continued to walk her to her place of destination and she gave me a hug and told me that my parents had raised me right because you rarely see that kind of behavior in today's society towards the elderly.

My parents are both dead since many years (I am 65). They were the best friends I ever had in my life. There is not a single day that I do not think about them. I have pictures of them, but I never look at them. There is no need for it, they are always present, because I have a special place for them in my head and my heart.
