What size pancakes?

when or if you make pancakes,what size do you make them?
The big size one at a time or like say three small ones.....

i just always would make the big ones
(i thought it was always more american of me to make the big ones)

Don't know what you mean with "pancakes" but I make them as big as the pan is. Naturally.

But I prefer them to be thin so you can roll them easily.

Not crepes, ihno. Pancakes are not as thin as crepes. You don't roll them up with goodies inside. Pancakes should be light, fluffy and about 6 to 8 inches (15 to 20 cms) in diameter (smaller versions we call silver dollar pancakes or mini pancakes and they are about half that size). Some call them hotcakes, griddlecakes or flapjacks. Variations such as chocolate chips, blueberries and pecans are also popular, hehe. Spread some butter or margarine on them because it makes them even better.

I have a question for everyone. Do you drizzle the syrup over your stack or pour it on the plate around the stack like a little moat around your castle of cakes? Or both? I like the moat style so my pancakes remain dry until I sink a bite in the moat just before devouring it. I also like to sink my bacon or sausage in the moat, lol.

We had this very meal for Sunday morning breakfast today. It's also Father's Day here in America. We'll be going to leave flowers at my father's resting place today. He loved pancakes and bacon/sausage for Sunday breakfast

Sniffit I LIKE TO PUT MY syrup ON A SIDE DISH SO I CAN GET AS MUCH AS I WANT ON EACH BITE .. I LIKE LIKE TO OVER DO THE SYRUP I WANT TO BE ABLE TO TASTE THE PANCAKES.....IM THE SAME WHEN IT COMES TO SALAD DRESSING....

Pancakes are heavy, sodden and to me disgusting. Give me waffles instead!

You've never had my pancakes They are not heavy. They are light and fluffy. I love waffles. I like to dip my waffle bites in syrup, too

ps - if you ever try pancakes again do as i do and don't drizzle the syrup... instead dip each bite in syrup before you eat it. if you drizzle it soaks into the pancake and can make it heavy and sodden

Damn you all...
All this talk (and my digging up that picture) gave me a craving for pancakes! I had to hobble my ass downstairs and limp around the kitchen on a broken foot to make a batch.

It was worth it...
