what would you say to a dying person?

what would you say to a dying person? what would you say to someone that has only a few days of life?

I wish i was able to say anything, i think i would just hold there hand, or hug them

PS: this is why i post questions about poop, and mundane stuff
were all people...we all bleed and pee and poop, and we all just want to be!!!

If it is a Family or Friend: I would hug him/her and stay with him/her....

I would probably say "Goodnight (NAME) will see each other again someday.... (while sobbing like a child)

That's a good way to do it...had this situation very recently with my dad. He was a big man's man who didn't like to express any kind of emotion but he suffered from a prolonged illness that reduced to a shell of the man he was...I was with him a lot in the last days and when I thought there was a chance I wouldn't see him alive the next day I held his hand firmly. Told him how much I appreciated all the things he taught me while looking him straight in the eye. I said "I love you" and for the first time ever saw my dad's eyes water up (mine followed RIGHT BEHIND!) - I kissed him head and squeezed his hand again for a long time. Without any word, I left and he died later that night but I felt like I did the right thing...still miss him everyday.
