I've never had one, so just wondering are they worth getting? What are the pros and cons?

I think it really depends on what sort of games are your thing. Myself I think if you're a casual gamer you should go for the Nintendo DSi. It has a bigger library of games available for it from puzzle games, brain trainers, shooters, and RPG's. I myself have a DSi XL (coz Im getting older and my eyesight is waning), a PSP, a DS light, Gameboy SP, Gameboy Micro. You could say that Im a handheld junkie, and am hanging out for the Nintendof 3DS, and keen to see what the PSP 2 will deliver as well.

Hi Putin,

I have a PSP and a DS. I generally prefer the PSP as I prefer the games and the graphics on it.

The DS is good for puzzle/strategy games but I prefer the PSP for action games (GTA Vice City, Tomb Raider, God of War - were all great)

iPod touch is something else to consider as there are a lot of games available.

I agree with Swingindik.... wait for the 3DS. I have both the DS and the PSP.... The DS has more games, but the PSP's graphics are quite decent. Also, the touch is great for some shorter less-complex games. Really depends on what games you like to play in general.

I own both a DS (2 actually) and a PSP and I love em bothe for their own reasons. But ultimately its down to the kind of games you like. PSP has more game genres you'd see on home consoles but the DS has a completely different range of games thanks to the touch screen.
But put it this way, more "macho" or "older" games on the PSP
"creative" and "kid-friendly" games for DS

I'd say a DS is your best bet for now, then the NEW PSP once that comes out as that seems the stronger product.

Need I remind you of my extensive 3DS rant :F

Also, the mutterings about the PSphone are sounding quite interesting. It might actually be worth a look-see when that comes out. Though the Nokia NGage was never that great when it was first released, so perhaps a fair bit of research would be an idea!

I'd definitely say PSP, but as everyone else is saying, it depends on what games you like to play. PSP has better graphics and the more action-based titles like God of War and Dissidia. The DS has the more traditional Nintendo rpg's and puzzle games. You can't really go wrong with either.

I would say Nintendo 3DS. It has great games and can play all DS Games.
PSP is not bad either. The PS Vita can be good but it is expensive and doesn't have many origninal games so far.

Edit: In Terms of graphics it goes like this: PS Vita <-- 3DS <-- PSP <-- DS.
If you don't want to spend much Money you can get a used PSP. If you plan on getting
DS all I can tell is Buy 3DS. It is better than the DS in every aspect.
The Vita has the most powerful Hardware, almost being capable of PS3 Graphics. But it is expensive AND you need an extra Vita MemoryCard to actually play games. And those Memory cards aren't cheap at all. However you can download PS1 games and play many PSP games on it. (not all for some reason)

The 3DS, you can play all the new games plus you can play DS games as well. It also has a virtual console so you can buy older games like Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda. You can also download most of the new releases (and now some of the popular titles released last year) in the 3DS eshop instead of going out and buying the game in stores. You might consider getting a 3DS XL for the bigger screen but the smaller version has already had a price drop.

The Gameboy Advance, only because there was an attachment available to let you play your portable games on a TV screen.
