Since Thursday I suddenly get 900KB/s on free download?

I'm not complaining, just surprised

Seems back to lower speeds, and other bad news is now it looks like they are starting to set a 500mb limit for free users - have to have Premium to get some larger files.

Don't hate me, but I'm back up to 900KB/s.

RG is just having fun toying with their free users for awhile. Its possible they were tipped off arch-rival Uploaded was about to get killed, so temporarily lifted limitations on free users to snag some disappointed Uploaded folks.

Depending on who posted the file, what forum it is on, and what time of day/evening, I'm suddenly getting 500-900 KB/s on free downloads (also suddenly no 1gb cap on file size).

But more usually I'm getting their typical snail-slow 45 KB/s free service with 1gb file size limitation.

So don't get too dependent on the "new improved" RG - they aren't known for being free-user-friendly. This is probably just a hiccup while they re-structure some things.

At the moment I get round about 100 KB/s and that is really "rapid" for Rapidgator - for me. Normally I get 50 to 70 KB/s. So, be happy with your high speed, smallsleepyrascalcat! :thumbs up:

And I am not complaining, I am a free user too, and they want to earn money with their service ...

It took a few days longer before my speed went up, eventually to around 650Kb/s. I just did a test d/load - it has slowed but still getting around 350KB/s... which is still much better than I am used to, and might partially be because it's Saturday afternoon and everyone is at home sharing the bandwidth

I wasn't complaining - the opposite in fact, these speeds are better than I usually get
