What's ur opinion...

Hey Guys:

Earlier this afternoon, I met a few of my friends for lunch. While catching up with each other, one of my friends had mentioned that when he was hanging out at one of the clubs the other night, the bartender that he knows was telling him that he and his bf were going to have a civil ceremony next month. Unfortunately, he had just found out that his bf was messing around with another guy for a few months behind his back. This is the clincher..the bartender's best friend had known of this but never mentioned it to the his buddy, the bartender because he didn't want to get involved. Therefore, the bartender was not only hurt that his bf betrayed him, but also that his best friend cared to inform him.

I've heard people say this before in regard to not wanting to get involved when they know that someone close to them is being cheated on. Now...my question is...How do you guys feel about this?...Would you want to know if your bf was cheating on you by your best friend?...Would you feel betrayed if your best friend knew of your bf fucking around behind your back and yet, did not feel compelled to inform you???..Would you still consider your best friend your best friend?

This is something that caused a difference in opinions with my friends as to how this situation would be handled or would it be handled...I would like to hear you guys opinions on this and explain your choice...Thanks to all of you who responds to this post in advance...I very much appreciate your input...:thinking:

This is my personal opinion but the thoughts that I feel may not necessarily be felt and agreed upon by others in this forum but this is my take on it. Spare all feelings if I know that my best friend was being cheated on and their about to get married !c@$ THAT! I'd tell him/her right away before she makes a mistake and getting married to this sbag! Last thing I want is a bestfriend being betrayed and getting divorced.

You pose a tricky question JW4833...

In my opinion 'best' friends have obligations to one another as do boyfriends. If I were to find out that my best friends boyfriend was cheating on him yes I would feel obliged to tell him if I had proof. The hard part is the proof.
Love can make people blind and twist emotions. Relationships can wreak havoc on friendships so without proof it would be just a friends word against a boy friends word.
If I was in a relationship I would want my friends to tell me but I would also need some form of proof or I might believe its just sour grapes. The best friend also has to be aware of the danger of hurting the person being cheated on. Hearing that your boyfriend is cheating on you is not easy to accept and the backlash can be devastating.
The emotional tangle can hurt the original friendship unless the person being cheated on is quite clear that the bearer of bad news is just a messenger and not the root cause.
