More interesting to myself when I'm drunk. I have amazing moments of perfect clarity when I can appreciate things so fully and recognize things I've never seen before and resolve so many troubling issues. Then I become sober & realize what ungodly bullshit it all was.

I totally know that feeling when I think I've solved ALL the problems of the world in one night with a big bottle of Vodka and yes - most of it IS bullshit when you come back to Earth but an interesting thing to do is write down (or record or whatever) some of your thoughts when you're off your rocker. It does pay

I work in a business where I'm expected to be "creative" and make something out of literally nothing everyday just from the ideas and thoughts in my head. I'm pretty good on an everyday basis coming up with "stuff" but some of my best ideas and campaigns have come from being totally fucked up on some substance...(I have an addictive personality and I admit it) Thats where i really TAP into the weird and unusual that most straights can't come up with and that's whats made me wildly successful and rich...or at least moderately successful and happy

I guess my point is..take advantage of whatever your particular vice is because it can help you in your everyday work life! BUT don't stop there....take advantage of EVERYTHING you do to get ahead. Thoughts pop into my head on any variety of subjects ALL THE TIME. When I'm in the shower, on the crapper, eating lunch - whenever! The key is to write them down or figure out a way to remember them because, to me, inspiration is like lighting a fart. SURE it burns bright but only for a second then all you remember is the smell....

In normal life you feel a bit a puppet on a string. Do this, do that and so on. You feel limited in your freedom of movements. Alcohol (and other drugs) have the ability to give you an idea of freedom, as if the strings disappear. Since I stopped drinking I searched for other ways to achieve this ability. And there is an easy way to reach that. Do two things at the same time. One simple puppet on a string activity, like cleaning and use your brain at the same time to imagine in stead of listening to a radio or watching TV. Or when you wake up during the night, make no forced efforts to fall asleep again, but imagine things. You will feel an unimaginable freedom of thinking and at the end you will fall asleep again. But next morning you will remember your thoughts. The best parts of the book that I am writing have arisen during such periods. Breaking the chains of life is important to make real progress.

I think it also depends on several factors of character.

A dear friend, after a glass of wine (one only of good wine), manages to esprimirsi much better, free of the "mental inhibitions", which would otherwise not be able to express (or perhaps would not dare).

One specific thing comes to mind here. I don't now & never did do any illegal drugs, with one exception: I used to spend some time with Mary Jane (yeah, that dates me!). And the one lasting effect of those days is that it really led to a deep appreciation of certain music.

Even today, when I happen on a song that I listened to while under the influence, I still hear it in a different way & with a different appreciation.

I had a taste that extended a while, but felt it really controlled my moods. Then I got some the was laced. Never looked back. But I do know what you mean how you see things in a deeper value such as music. You hear every note, feel the beat, sometimes even understand the lyrics. Most of the time the lyrics were all about talking about me and I had to shut it off and look out the window:rofl::rofl::rofl:

There is so little interesting about me whether drunk or sober. But at least I have a big dick and big balls that hang more than half way to my knees. That gets attention at least:rofl::rofl::rofl: So that might be seen as interesting to some.
