Hi,

there are some things you can do:

1. PM the poster directly is a good idea.
2. Use the red sign with the exclamation mark on the left, under your profile name ("Report Post").

I think there you can inform about the dead links, but didn't use it yet.

Have a nice Christmas time! :)

I'd definitely go for the first recommendation: PM the poster!

I'm more questioning about Lamicheval's second recommendation; as far as I remember the "Report Post"-button is strictly for reporting posts breaking the forum rules (such as spam posts, posts in the wrong forum section, kiddy porn etc), not about faulty links to an otherwise correct post.

So: PM the poster :thumbs up:

Great answer gorgik9 ! And if the poster throws an attitude or ignores you, gets pissed off ect., you can do what I recently started doing .....Watch the dead links build up !

thanks to all the respondents ... you're all pretty much on the mark :big hug:

there really is no point reporting dead links to the staff .. the files are uploaded by the poster, and they are the one who would have to repost. the staff don't have the files or the time to contact posters about dead links :)

use the report button for the types of things outlined by gorgik9

thanks everyone :thumbs up:

Hello,

thanks for the explanation, guys! :)

Short time after this answer I had to use the "Report Post" function for the first time, because there was spam.

And directly after the message field for this function there is the note:

"Note: This is ONLY to be used to report spam, advertising messages, broken links, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts."

So perhaps it should be corrected without the "broken links" in it. Because I can imagine, it would indeed be too much time to look at broken links also for the stuff!

And btw. I admire your work here on GayHeaven, you all (the complete stuff!) do a great job!

Have a happy new year, ladies and gentlemen! :big hug:
