Hi folks. I was not online for about a week. Last week, at Tuesday, we had some strange weather conditions in The Netherlands. It was extremely hot. The effect was heavy weather conditions in the evening. In my place there was a real whirlwind. For not more than one mile, but it passed my house. Several really large trees destroyed and also my house was damaged. It took not more than one minute, but the effect was immense. So last week I had to clean up things, and still I am not finished. But happily no people got harmed. Most of the damage is insurance matter, but it is really tragic that my garden has suffered so much. But that’s life. Sometimes things are good and sometimes things are bad. But I am back now, in a good mood. It doesn’t help to complain.

if i am not mistaken, there was a young victim of the storm. In Vught, a two-month old baby was found dead because a large tree was rooted and then fell on the roof right above the baby crib. So sad....

anyway, i'm glad that you're okay!

Sad indeed. Storm causes a lot of trouble. But a real whirlwind is rare in The Netherlands.

Hi Tjerk,

Hope your able to restore everything.

We deal with those all summer where I live. We call them tornadoes.

In May nearly the entire town of Joplin Missouri was destroyed.
116 killed. Absolutely horrific!!!

Thanks for your compassion Tom. It must be really horrific to be confronted with big tornado's. This was only a very little one that lasted only a few miles, but still its power was impressive. The damage is annoying, but not really substantial.

The forces that Mother Nature releases are pretty unbelievable.

Makes you wonder and realise how puny and weak we are in face of such massive power! Be it volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes; nature will simply overwhelm us... oh but its not all tragic and gloom! I think nature offer us the best view we can never create or duplicate, be it in a picture or videos: ever seen the sunset and feel the breeze passing through you? Or stand at the top of a mountain and see how the land seems to stretch like, forever?!! Or look out of an airplane window and see the top of all the nice fluffy clouds!!
LOL, all these together with all that raw power nature has... interesting world we live in!
(oops! i dont think im answering to anything, just ramblingXD)

The modern person, as well as our ancient ancestors, is defenceless before forces of the nature! It sets thinking.
