I'd be lying if I said I always live up to this, but I do try to live my life by the simple (and Christian) motto:

Treat others like you want others to treat you.

I'm not a Christian, in fact, I'm an agnostic and a humanist, but I definitely think this world would be quite the paradise if people all lived following the example of Jesus. (and no, I do not mean if the world was all Christian, the obsession with the old testament in Christianity is very un-Christ-like, as are all Churches and most Christians with their fixations on proselytising, running people's sex lives, repression, and hate).
