I'm creating this dish for a church function and I wondered if it sounds any good. Its pesto and mushroom and walnut stuffed ravioli with a tomato mushroom sauce. Sounds good to me but idk.

nope Haven't made it yet. Making the pasta from scratch. The filling will be pesto mushrooms and walnuts and Parmesan cheese. All with a tomato mushroom sauce.

Well I'm guessing you are going to have a trial run.. so try out a couple of variations of the filling recipe... walnuts can have a very strong taste, and too much could overwhelm the other flavours.

I know I've been cooking for as long as I can remember. Just been a while sense I've done handmade ravioli.

I haven't made it for ages... just lazness on my part.

btw - If any one comments about there being too little/too much garlic just ask them if they can still taste the love that went into them... I find that normally shuts them up!

Hey Sounds great! I don't know about walnuts in my ravioli.. the crunch would offset the unexpected texture.. how about :O arugula or spinach?! .. just a thought :blushing: But whatever you decide save me some!

I'm doing this local food event at the church so the mushrooms pinenuts and egg's are grown and harvested within my state. so its kinda cool. they say that the average plate of food travels like over 2,000 miles.

Yeah making pasta by hand is hard work that's why I only do it on special occasions like this event and dates.

True but I don't want it dry and I make a good tomato sauce from scratch well from really good can tomatoes I never buy the jarred stuff

Oh yeah and I grew the basil so that is really local.

That is a thought Cream sauce. Well what ever I decide I will let you know how it goes.

Other than the walnut is sounds great to me (I got an allergy)
