Hi guys

I'd like to officially inform you that I've requested deleting my profile.

Althought I used to like this forum ... It's not what it was, at least not for me.

I was considering it for awhile. And I have no doubt it's really good thing to do.

I'd like to thank for some good advices and consultations I get when I needed them especially in my early days here.

I hope 0.001% of what I've posted was useful for someone too. :p

bye;)

Sorry to see you go. Would you not prefer to just take a break and leave your account intact? That way you can change your mind in a few weeks and months and retain your history and reputation.

I never like good-byes. I prefer 'so longs'.

Leave your membership in place... for our sake if not for yours.

You are part of this forum's tapestry after all these years whether you feel like it or not.

Stay.

What I'd like to say is a combination of what Sniffit and gb have said: Like Sniffit I'm really bad with definite good-byes, and like gb I'd like to lure you into just taking a break and leave your account intact...

But if you're making definite finito's I can only wish you a life as happy and interesting as possible!

You don't give any concrete reasons for becoming disillusioned with GH. Is it possible that your unhappiness could be addressed by advice from other members?

We all have problems with others from time to time. A few months ago I had a run in with one of the moderators of GH. He severely criticized part of one of my posts and deleted it altogether. When I took exception to his critique, he shot back a nasty, arrogant reply to the effect of, "That's the way we do it around here." I have pretty much stopped posting because of him. I left GH for a time, several weeks, but came back because GH is is so much more than one ill tempered member.

Before leaving couldn't you take a break or ask advice from the membership at large? There is a lot to like here.

If you are sure you want to leave, I can only wish you happiness and many good things in the future. Best wishes.

Hi Sinnerr I think everything has been said here to ask you to stay.

But one thing - during the time I'm here on GH I too have had many fierce "fights" with members who didn't want to "follow" my opinions. In the first moments I've been as well very furious and I wanted to jack it all in.

But in this case I've here on GH in the meantime very good friends who cooled me down. They have given me advices how to act wise. And let me tell you these conversations with these friends here have helped me too to realize that in some cases I've overreacted. And with the most of my "opponents" here I'll become friends in the meantime. Nevertheless they "fight" against my opinions if they think they must do it.
But isn't that the same in real life - when you are arguing with your personal friends?! I don't believe that you will leave there your friends because of another opinion - am I right?

So from this reason please consider once more your final step.

Just about everything I would have said in this thread has already been posted above.... we have a saying in UK "Act in haste, repent at leisure".... take a break - if you never feel like you want to come back well that would be a shame but at least leave the option open?

I wish you the best if you go or if you stay. I have yet to have a serious ugly encounter with another member, but after your post and some of the replies above I will be cautious of that happening.
Wish you a smooth sailing ahead and a path full of joy

We will miss having your point of view and especially your sense of humor!

Anyway, a few of us caught up together on the GH corporate jet and put this song down for you. (You'll have to figure out who is who!)

I have to say honestly...I do agree with you coming to the decision to delete your account because like you and Xenos had mentioned in your posts/reply ...things have changed a lot from the time I joined this forum as well and therefore...I completely understand where you are coming from and I too had made the decision as well to stop posting topics on the forum also....and I have been contemplating on deleting my account altogether as well too. Nonetheless...I wish you nothing but the best ....take care of yourself...JW

Sorry to read this... if "old" members are leaving, what is here for us who are relatively new?

Take care, Sinner ;)

:agree:

About being old and farty, I guess myself and gb joined GH at almost exactly the same time;)

And just like gb, I definitely don't have any plans of leaving our forum:)

Many of you are about right in your posts. I'm surprised so many of you want me to stay. From my point of wiew it doesnt worth it. My activity decreased rapidly in 1.5 year. (I have recieved message telling me I haven't post for last 30 days several times.) In last two weeks I was quite active but not in the way I would like. I prefer sending and recieving good vibes. I respect the fact we have different opinions. But in times the only threads I feel need to express myself are those where I have very unpopular opinion it's time to quit. My old posts are gonna stay even without my profile, so you're not gonna loose a single my wise words  But I really feel I have no more to give - that's the MAIN REASON. If I'd change my mind in this I could return with new username. (conscious mistake with double "r" doesn't seem funny to me anymore ... and after all I feel myself rather "Saint" right now :) ).

So thanks so much for all these kind words you wrote and bye.

But in times the only threads I feel need to express myself are those where I have very unpopular opinion it's time to quit.

I would look at those same facts and see that it's important to stay. The internet makes it easy to go hide in echo chambers where everyone agrees with each other. That's really destructive - it's important we all hear lots of different opinions, ESPECIALLY those we disagree with.

9 times out of 10 people who disagree won't change each other's minds, but that 10% is where we all grow as people.

If GH becomes a place where everyone agrees with each other, that's when I'll be posting my 'good bye folks' post!

The heated discussions here are all located in threads with names that make it very obvious they will be heated. If you're not in the humour for a heated discussion, steer clear of the controversial threads!

It's waste of time. you know, arguments about politics in internet discussions are like paralympics - even if you win you're still retarded. I avoid it as i can cos it's waste of energy. It sucks my blood and pisses me off. Only place where it's vital to express your political opinion is poll station, by throwing your ballot into the box.
