Hi every now and again I keep getting this message

The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later

Is anybody else getting this.

It has only started in the last couple of days

Hi Kev,

The message occurs when too many users try to login/access the forum at the same time.
Its unavoidable since this forum is too popular and the server cannot support such overwhelming support of this amazing website.

Only recourse is to login at another time/other times of the day.

As a server administrator myself, your explanation seems murky. You are correct that there is a capacity issue right now. What are GH plans to expand capacity? GH is an awesome forum and you are gaining members every day, and we are all grateful for your excellent moderation, support and reassurance. You are the BEST! To stay on top, that means that GH absolutely must do more long-range capacity planning. We realize that we as members must abide by forum rules, but just to advise us to "try again later" means that by doing nothing you will not attract new members. This is a growth issue, and consequently a revenue issue for you.

I have not received these messages, but lately I often navigating the forum with difficulty, and only in the GH site.
Several minutes to load a page, and sometimes the message of the browser "impossible connect to the web page."

Site owners should seek to remedy this situation, because the difficulties of this sort, create disaffection in the users, and who knows how many new members, not being able to log in, maybe have given up to connect or register.

As you may have noticed there is no advertising here on GH and there is no fee to join, this limits us severely as regards any long term planning. :worried:

In the interim, the suggestion to try signing in at different times and on different days is the best we have to offer.

The staff appreciates that you, and many others, enjoy this little slice of GayHeaven. :thumbs up: We also believe that we are offering one of the best free forums, of this type, on the internet. Our rules may seem rigid at times, but it is because of those rules that we are still here and that our members are not bombarded with spam every time they access our site.

inaction is not really an answer.

I appreciate as much as anyone the fine workers and the like who keep Gay Heaven going but the issue of popularity cannot be ignored. I have owned web sites and have never hit the level of "denial of service" where a message needed to be made to the members. I would recommend that adding new servers is not as expensive as you think. If a membership fee is necessary to buy new servers then why not querry your current members if they would pay a fee to join and how much they would be willing to pay for a membership. Right now I have denial of service notices from Gay Heaven for the opening page! that is nuts. Often I have the denial of service after 3-5 minutes. and the recur and recur every 5 minutes thereafter. I simply give up and believe others will too. That also means I will have to quit my memberships with the Download companies like Rapidgator, Deposit file and Upload etc. If I cannot browse Gay Heaven I have no need for these companies. Everyone loses. Inaction is not an answer.

Right now there are 885 persons online. Of these 560 are guests and 325 are members. Of those only a handful of people visits those social threads in question. So I hardly doubt that those threads affect the server in any way. This is not just a tradingplace for people, who visit this forum as a kind of moneymaking job. So let's keep the perspective here.

I come to GH (almost) every day. Why? First and foremost, because I really like ''social threads''. Here I can found out what is the temperature in Sydney, what to wear for a first date, what's going on in Russia, what to prepare for a dinner, which movie / song is hot right now, how to come out, etc...

So, thank you to all GH members for sharing not only porn material, but also your everday stories with me!

All true and I agree. I have never hidden my appreciation and involvement in this "big family".

pls do not misunderdand, i did not suggest to delete these threads, just to make a cleanout, honestly who cares about a temperature from member x y in january 2012? go ask yourself! do you really go browse these threads more than 2 sites? . deleting some old posts will discharge the forums servers at least a tiny bit

this makes no sense

in the past 2 weeks I started my visit to GH and the opening page was "too busy" and within an hour of my visit here I had 10- 12 such denials of service. What is strange is how few people have noted this change or visited this thread to see why there is this problem. It is obvious to me that I am being selected out to have this message given to me for some reason. this is not occasional. this is constant. if everyone else on the site was receiving this message then everyone would have had the same frequency as I have it. no one seems to be reporting this. I have no idea how you set up the notice to deny the service but it seems to be pointed clearly at me. :no:

I remember very well how extremely annoyed I was about 2 years ago, when we had the same type of problems with the server beeing to busy. It went on for serveral weeks, and boy, was I ever annoyed :angry: as hell. There were many days I couldn't login to GH at all...

But things change, and obviously I'm not that annoyed this time. Why

? Because I'm not a lowly Junior Member anymore - beeing a VIP-member, I don't have the server busy-problem anymore; we're allowed to bypass and login to GH anyway. And the same goes for the SVIP:s, Hotties, Streamers, and of course the Mods and Admins.

I thought it was the correct thing to do to explicitly spill the beans, why there are ONLY Junior Members who complain (kevmufc83, valiantcrusade, pinklee1, gualigeee) while us VIP:s and SVIP:s etc. go on hunky dory.
Not that this is some deep secret, but no one seemd to care to explain the situation, and I absolutly don't like when seriously annoyed Junior Members get rude and snotty comments from us in the "privileged bunch".

So - let's hope that "it get's better" for all of us

The servers are being worked on by the tech staff, the to busy message is being received by every visiting member, including the staff. ~X(

When the work is done, soon hopefully, we can all get back to a normal visit to GH.

No on is being picked on pinklee1 :rofl: instead we are all in the same boat.

The reason that not many people are getting involved in this thread is that it is in an out of the way section, 'one not normally on the road most taken', when visiting a porn forum.

If you were to start a thread in discussions about this topic it would very quickly be one of the most visited threads on the forum. :cheers:
