The organizers of this campaign feel that education can beat poverty and that when people join the campiagn, world leaders would solve this problem and provide education for the 72 million children worldwide. I was wondering if that is really true. Just education alone can overcome and solve the centuries long problem? Also if world leaders would be able to sovle this problem.
Maybe not education alone, but together with the enthusiasm that the kids in Africa supposedly possess, they can break out of their poverty cycle.
However, there a problems here too, where will these people go? are they supposed to stay in villagers? with education they would know of technology and when they are cannot obtain that technology won't it kinda torture them inside? This enthusiasm that must come along with the education to overcome poverty, it stems from the fact that not many get the education and since getting education is a rare opportunity, when one gets it he would be enthusiastic about it. However, once education is no longer seen as a rare commodity, would that enthusiasm be sustained? evidently from certain countries, education is no longer an opportunity to the younger generation but rather a chore that is compulsory for succeeding in life.
It seems odd that world leaders are not providing education to their citizens when the government duty of care implies that education should be provided for by the government. Assuming that the government cares about what the international community thinks, more specifically what the supporters of the 1Goal campiagn think, and becasue of that campaign they provide education, why did'nt they provide it already? Governments are not provide education for a valid reason I would think/assume, and the campaign cannot answer that problem or rather resolve the issue except to make noise and stir up emotions as to why 27 million people are not getting education.
I am not trying to undermine the campaign but rather just anaylsing whether the campaign is truely useful so, no offence! any thoughts anyone? hmm...
