I had a bunch of friends over thanksgiving weekend and we happened on a marathon rerun of 2 broke girls season 1...the first few episodes and kinda uneasy jabs were borderline funny but towards the mid-season, it at least sounded to be, pretty deliberate and targeted on specific races and groups.
The idea was reinforced when most of my friends ( a pretty diverse group of races, groups, professions, political and religious beliefs ) collectively complained mid-season to move on to another show.
i read a new yorker review call it so sexist and racist, it is baffling. While i know others out there are groaning with a "lighten up - its just a joke" or "get a sense of humor and lose the political correctness" - its just that at least to me, the punch lines lacked wit, like more lazy cruelty than sparkling humor.
my friends threw popcorn at me when i insisted on continuing with the first season...
