Suddenly my browser (Chrome) wont show embeded flash videos, even though I have the newest version. It just shows blank where videos are supposed to be. Right clicking gives only options: About flash player etc. Could it be virus?X_X

Allright. So I can see the videos here though... Could it just be so bad luck that in few sites the vids didn't show, was actually fault of the sites? Odds aren't totally impossible, but unlikely:thinking: But still if anyone knows problem, that Flash Videos wont show, please tell. Or if someone regodnizes a symptom of a virus. Thx in advance!

So now I'm certain that it's not the sites fault... In some site where there are many flash videos, some show normally, some show just blank box. I'm using Chrome. But when I tried the same sites with Firefox, everything worked fine. Latest versions of everything in Chrome, douplechecked (and chrome updates automatically anyways). Problem started suddenly. Nothing new has been installed. Any ideas? While googling I found out that this is a quite common problem, but (SUPRISE!) google or chrome moderators haven't offered any help (at least couldn't find it) and on forums found mostly begging for answers. So please, if anybody knows anything, do share. I don't wanna go back to using firefox:(

Otage dude if you can see the videos from here as embedded Youtube flash and you can see them with another browser from the same website... it means that your Google chrome is missing some codecs libraries... the best way to fix it would be just to re-install Google... Also make sure you do not have plug Ins installed as AVG toolbar or any stupid Internet security toolbar... AVG toolbar install when you update software such as Videolan and or Gom Player... AVG masks everything and never ask your permission... Virus doesn't do that I believe GB2000ie wrote something very interesting once regarding Virus versus Malware... do not mix one another. When installing a new software or plugin be part of the revolution and read the steps before clicking NEXT... sometime you'll see something like... "Improve your browsing experience with this crap"... you sure know it won't improve it. READ READ READ that's the rule number one of Internet browsing and downloading.

Thx SimplyJakeAndAlex. I have actually worked on this problem more after posting here. I deletet Chrome completely and re-installed usin Firefox. On some forum that worked for someboy, but for many - such to me - it didn't fix the problem. Many have had the problem, and after months it has suddenly stopped to some. So now I'm figuring that it is somenthing to do with some Chrome or Adobe Flash Player update. And I don't have any useless adds or plug-ins or what not. And as I've looked into this, it seems quite common problem. And also the fact that some videos on the same site can work while others show only blank box makes me think that Chrome has some problem regodnizing some codes. And probably this happened cause of a new update. But what's causing it, I don't know.

Well that prove my point that Chrome might be missing some codec libraries... for a video to play in a browser the browser need to have the capability to compress and decompress some libraries... a site like Youtube uses the well known FFMPEG which is a series of codec libraries that allows automate conversion of many video files so they can be played in a browser... but sometimes it does happens that after an update the codec gets corrupted... I ran a youtube clone site before and trust me it's a fucking headache at each update to find out which codec needs an update or degrade so it can work with the newly update file... got fed up of fixing I closed the site lol. No really I may be a system admin but I have better to do than fixing developers' bugs :)

Another explanation is the flash videos are erased! I often see such problems in porn tubes.

Another answer is maybe your ISP block the Ip address from that website. It happens to me atm coz Xvideos suddenly dead. The blogs which usually embedded videos from there don't show any videos. All dead at the same time. When I opened Xvideos, it's also dead. I realize it's blocked by my ISP coz XVideos is openeable via proxy!
