Hmmm, saving money and casino gambling somehow doesn't seem like two concepts which go together.

But you asked for ideas. I don't know AC but I do know Foxwoods/Mohegan Sun and Lake Tahoe. I'm not a gambler but I go there for the dining and the shows and even just to walk around and goof on people.
You can get good dining value at the buffets. They are typically spectacular, all-you-can-eat affairs. For a ridiculously low fixed cost you can stuff yourself on great, often fun foods, well prepared and presented. Skip the sit down, go buffet.
Can you jump on a casino bus instead of driving? The bus takes you from the pickup point and drops you at the front door, some even give you $20 in chips. That way parking is not an issue.
I've seen some pretty good acts , often for free in the casinos. Can't beat free for live shows.
Would you consider going to a different place than Atlantic City? I only went there once and it was pretty dumpy, I'd never go there again. Foxwoods, Mohegan and Lake Tahoe are world class gambling venues, you won't find better, and parking is easy as well as free. I'd skip Reno as its a dumpy town, but you might consider Laughlin Nevada instead. Its like a mini Las Vegas, very small gambling mecca, walkable, safe, classy.
And if you want to experience genuine old west gambling saloons, visit Cripple Creek Colorado. The town has a bunch of these ma & pa poker houses, most of which date from the 1880's. Might only be one room plus bar. Low stakes gambling, not like Vegas, no glitter, just history.
