Do you enjoy an Anti-Climax story?
Imagine the story was like a saga. At the end of first series, sometimes the writer make the story end smoothly. Bad guys killed, good guys and the girl survive from the diabolical enemy scheme, the story end with happy or sad endings or the writers give a little hint about what will be happen for the next story or series.
But sometimes the writer leads the readers into confusion, its like when the good guy begin to find out who's the bad guy and the scheme he made, when they ready to fight for the girl, suddenly the story stop. Continue to next story or series. It happened when you finally understand and like the story.
What will you do? Wait for the next series since it was really good story or just disappointed and dump the books or movies on shelves. Thanks
Sorry for the English.

For me, an anti-climax or a cliffhanger is something I love to hate. :p If a story is good enough, then I simply can't wait to see the next episode. Sometimes I have to force myself to stop watching because I have better things to do, but never do I dump it because it ends with a cliffhanger of some sort. :)
There are times, though, when a season ends with a cliffhanger and the continuation isn't until next year when the next season starts, that I tend to forget that I want to continue watching it, and so I never really get to see an ending. :( On the other hand, it doesn't bother me in any way because I've already forgotten about it. :p

Anti-climax can be very frustrating but so can an early climax. When I watched The Dark Knight, I was so pumped when they caught the joker in the middle of the film (which involves like a long-arse sequence chase sequence) only to see him escape like 1 minute later. So bullshit hahaha.

Loved the ending to Sopranos.

" Three individuals enter and are specifically focused upon during entry. Meadow is shown coming to the dinner late and crossing the street as the rest of the family starts to eat an appetizer. An individual that had been previously shown at the counter specifically taking notice of Tony, is shown entering the restroom, the door of which is directly facing, (and approximately 90 degrees to), the table at which Tony and his family are sitting. As Meadow walks up to the door, the screen goes to Tony. The diner door opens with a bell ringing, Tony looks up and the show smash cuts to black and after a few seconds the credits roll in silence, leaving his and his family's fate a mystery.(Wikipedia)"

So there can be a good anti-climax, but usually I think they are quite disapointing.

Okay, that was all for a movies. How about books, like a novel. Sometimes the writer do the cliffhanger too right? Although I found it less. What are your thoughts? Will its gonna be the same?

Well in novels the anti-climax thing works better I think, but sometimes I get really frustrated if some 700 page long book just ends without no conclusion, and you just get the "wtf?!" feeling. But like in one of August Strindbergs books the hero of the story just takes a boat and starts to peddle(paddle, well whatever:)?) in to the mist, frustrated to everything "madness". It's not clear will he just disappear there, or return to shore someday, but you can get the symbolism of the act, the longing for peace and simplicity. Then it's ok if you get it, but if you just get the feeling that the writer runs out of ideas or ink, I personally take it as midlefinger to the reader;)

I seem to like bad/unhappy endings or open endings. The novel Die Bruecke from Manfred Gregor, published in 1958 and filmed by Bernhard Wicky in 1959 is an example of an unhappy ending story (many international awards, even an Oscar). I loved it.
Heinrich Boell - Und er sagte kein einziges Wort, published in 1953 is an example of a beautiful unhappy book (with an half open end). I loved that one too.

RefixnarcisM, like in your example, that after the anti-climax ending there will be another book from the serie, it will brolly work better, than in the case that the whole serie would end without no closeru. It makes you think back the story you'we just read as you really try to guess what will happen. And ofcourse the next book will totally suprise you;)

So in the end, it leaves to the writer, how they compose a story that even ended with an anti-climax for one of the series of their books. Readers wont leave their works (the novel) and looking forward for the next book.
Thanks a lot guys, guess not all readers hate an anti-climax stories.
