You`re a med student?? I so envy you right now! I tried going to the vet school but i failed to pass the exams ... the admitting exams. I was good at biology (the exams @ bio were from Genetics only) but I wasn`t that good at organic chemistry :| And after the failure I changed my speciality and went to the economics. And now I am an accountant who works as a mechanic worker in Italy... :| Which is killing me but hell, that`s life...
If I had the chance now...with no problems and maybe some free time, i would go and do some more school .
My mom worked at the children hospital. She was a nurse in the premature babies section (the ones born earlier than expected) ... Medicine is way too interesting!

I wish now I'd gone into something more practical, like gardening or mechanics. Just didn't have the interest years ago.

Mechanics? Are you for real? I mean, don`t you see mechanics is going down? Mechanics, industry...everything... Medicine, pharmacy, dentists, grocery stores will work for ever! And with a little taste for.... medical adventure you will do just fine I mean, i like watching when they take blood for tests, I watched when they stuck that huge needle between my ribbs to take off the liquid... the nurse was like: No, don`t look! U`ll get sick! Right! me, sick! hahahah!
So, in my opinion, medicine rules! If you know how to or can learn how to be detached ...emotionally detached...

I'm not quite sure how your medical education is set up... over here (germany), you start with two years of pre-clinic (anatomy, biochemistry, physiology), and after that's done, you get into the clinic where - i guess - you start studying all of the different kinds like chirurgy, internal medicine, etc.
right now, i'm at the end of preclinic, so starting fall it'd be the real thing for me as well...
are you already done with pre-clinic stuff? and how's psychiatry working out for you? i've always been thinking about doing that..

Yup , Ive done my pre-clinical years. Psychiatry is Ok for me..
Not too difficult to diagnose, Not many drug names to remember.
The only difficult part is communicating with the patients...Many patients come crying to me & i just dunno what to say...huuhuhuX_X
But it always gives a good feeling when the patients are smiling and laughing again.

That stuff can actually do anything good for you? So far, I've only got to know how viagra works, and that's only thanks to biochemistry... ;-) and concerning anatomy... i hated the part about the sexual organs, no matter if male or female.. really just hated that topic, i guess i consider this a "fun" area and didn't want to ruin it by having to learn all about the uterus :-D

Yeah, medicine student from Austria here! I've started studying in October and all I can say is, that it's kinda hard xD (and I'm just learning the basics now lol ^^)
