Hi Guys

I need some help here, Currently i have Norton 360 installed on my MacBook Pro under Windows 8.1 OS and i have been searching on the internet for some good free antivirus softwares to replace my current Antivirus that doesn't lag the computers performance and 100% gets a rid of all viruses,Trojans,Malwares and spyware etc! and i came across this one from "Bitdefender"

http://refhide.com/?http://anti-spy...ws.com/bitdefender-antivirus-plus-review.html

So i was wondering if anyone has tried this Antivirus software or if anyone knows any good ones that doesn't affect PC performance and 100% gets a rid of any of those things i mentioned above?

Thank you very much in advance for helping me & have a great weekend!:big hug:

I used to use AVAST anti-virus but at a recent update it developed a glitch so I switched to AVG... maybe AVAST has been patched since, I don't know.

http://www.avast.com/en-gb/index

http://download.cnet.com/AVG-AntiVirus-Free-2014/3000-2239_4-10320142.html

A good one for malware etc is SpywareBlaster

All of these are FREE

Wow Aww Thank you very much slimjim for helping/sharing and suggesting me some free antivirus/malware software, i love it so much, that's so nice and kind of you, I'll have a look into these, thank you once again for helping me my friend :big hug:

and regarding about AVAST, I'm not to sure either if they patched it:thinking: , but since they offer 2014 version, they might of already fixed it, btw i used this antivirus on my Samsung Android Phone.

Below are the AVs I actually trust on my computers and my family's computers.

Assuming you'd like your computer's resources to be available to you to actually do shit, avoid the big two (Norton & MacAfee) like the plague.

Windows:
AVG (be careful not to accidentally pick the paid version) - http://free.avg.com/ie-en/homepage
Microsoft Security Essentials (not as good as it used to be) - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download

OS X:
Clam X AV - http://www.clamxav.com (download from site, not from Mac App Store to get the full version)

Yes, yes - Macs never get viruses - blah, blah, blah....
Not only didn't I say that, but your attitude seems to suck.

I tried free, basic Avast recently, on the advice of my employer, but found it very aggressive in trying to sell me "improvements" as my trial this and that was coming to an end. May be I did something wrong and didn't install just the free service

Well as I posted earlier I've stopped using Avast, but I never had any hard sell from them to use the paid version... maybe your guess is right and you didn't d/load the free version?
