Ireland did not quality. This means (or so I am told) that it matters not who wins... only that England loses! But personally I do not care. It is nice to see it being held in Africa though.

I don't care who wins or loses, football has never interested me in the slightest.

I played more than 30 years football (always as a goalkeeper). I enjoyed doing it. Beside the physical joy an essential part is the possibility to win the game. To achieve that, you train the guts out of you (4 to 5 times a week). As a spectator the game gives me not more then 10 percent of that fun. Especially, since they “lard” the event on television with comments of “specialists”. They do as if football is “mathematics”. Take the right formula and then you win the game. Football is sport and sport is passion. Even the tiny helpless teams who don’t have any chance to win have my great respect. Those players are a thousand times better than I was. And millions of times better than the beer drinking fans.

to answer your question JeroenS the fan club that is supporting the North Koreans has been found out to be paid Chinese and Korean actors.

for the World cup I say number 1 choice Brazil, number 2 choice USA, number 3 choice Mexico.

Soccer (or football, which ever you prefer to call it) is pretty dead here in the states. So I don't really care about it... granted I don't care about sports in general, but... yeah.

Well the 2011 Cricket World Cup is now down to the Quaterfinals... all 4 matches to be played this week:

Pakistan v West Indies
India v Australia
New Zealand v South Africa
England v Sri Lanka

If/when we (England) beat Sri Lanka we then play the victor from the New Zealand/Sth Africa match
