Its nearly that time of year again - time to quit smoking?!
You have to be ready to quit so they say but switching over to vaping or ecigs makes it a lot easier, & I am a very grateful convert!:)
I started vaping & found the ecig a bit weak, I changed up from ecigs to a tank-pen that isnt to bulky where you buy the liquid seperateley & it gives a throat hit just like a cig. Anyone want to share there view?

I stopped smoking five years ago because my BF didn't liked to kiss me. He always said if he is kissing me he has the feeling to lick out an ashtray. And I didn't want to be an ash-tray - so I stopped smoking.

I will be nicotine free one year on Christmas eve. So almost a year.

Before that i used e-cigs for approx. 3 years. They are addictive, but I eventually even gave them up. They are a good stepping stone for some -but there are considerations like how addictive they are in their own right.

And before that I smoked about 20 cancer-sticks a day... so I wasn't the heaviest of smokers to begin with. But had I not tried e-cigs I believe that I would by now be on 30 or 40 a day.

I did try the tank, but ultimately preferred the e-cigs. They feel and look more like the real thing.

Why did I give up even the e-cigs? I think I started using them way too much and they started causing a kind of non-stop lightheadedness -hard to describe, but I had to be completely nicotine free for weeks before it went away -nightmare. So my advice is DO NOT OVER DO THE E-CIGS. Drop to a medium level as soon as you feel able. And then even to the lower strength levels. Remember, these things are untested and largely unregulated. Use with caution.

Finally, if you do decide to finally give up all nicotine, the first few days are really tough, then it eases off over the next couple of weeks, then you might hit a bout of low-mood (this can be tough to overcome, but it happened quickly enough for me, just a few weeks) so at that point you need to keep your mood up -lot's of positive self-talk, treats for yourself, whatever it takes. After a few months even the cravings completely go. And it feels great. True FREEDOM.

Plus you will save every day not only on the cost of the fags, but even the cost of e-liquid. So the money will start to pile up.

Best of luck. Do seriously consider the low-strength as soon as you feel able. You can always temporarily hop back up to medium if need be. But please do avoid the extra-high strength and puffing on it constantly -there is a risk of overloading your brain as it were. Nicotine is a very powerful compound in any form / delivery method. Just ease off when you can and keep an awareness of how much you use. Talk to friends and ask how much they use, did they ease it back, how are they doing with it, and so on.

Also, talk to your GP if you feel you need to.

It will all be worth it to live a longer and much healthier life. You have taken the hardest step already.

I wish these things had been around when I kicked the drug, they must make it very much easier. Nicotine itself is not so bad, it's all the other shit in the tobacco fumes that ruins your lungs. With E ciggies you can enjoy the hit without the bad breath or the cough or the early death you get with the real thing. It's a mystery why so many people keep on smoking the old-skool snouts when there is such a better way available.

I just want to add that I have been told that with ecigs/or liquids you can come down gradually in nico level & even use 0/zero nicotine vape for as long as necessary!

YOU ARE Absolutely right! They are an absolute GAME CHANGER!
I have to admit I am often surprised by young people smoking, but unless you smell the smoke how easy is to miss the fact they could be vaping an ecig?

If the warning on the packet read;
Cigarette smoke reduces the oxygen supply to your cock
Teenagers would take notice of that

Ecigs are believed to be linked to many mouth area cancers. In long term it haven't been verified, but other studies give quite good reason to believe that ecigs aren't harmless, and why to take the risk? Cause they are still healthier than cigs? If you wanna be healthy, don't just trade greater evil for lesser evil, quit both:thumbs up:

Many friends say they aren't addicted to smokes anymore. They have been smoking ecigs for years now. So they are still smoking, sucking a ridiculous stick, but now they only are smug about it.

I used nicotine pills for a week when I quit smoking. Within two weeks I had stopped using them all together. I was free and happy. Also Allen Cars book was great help in realising how stupid smoking is, and you really don't get anything from it. An same principles goes for ecigs. They give you nothing, and it looks ridicilous.

We don't live in fifties, where smoke is marketed mystical, sexy or cool. It's sad, stinks, looks stupid and smokers look grey and sick. People who say thinks like "it's just a habbit, it relaxes, it helps boredom" etc. are delusional. They are affected by slowly growing drug addiction and brainwash. Brainwash, like scenens in movies where dying man just want's one cigarette.

Smoking relaxes smoker, cause his level of nicotine has reduced, and by smoking he can feel "normal" for a while, a.k.a "relaxed". Breaking a habbit doesn't cause symptoms. You are bored are equally bored with smoke than you are with out. If the action reduces boredom, then why to lit the cigarette? Smoking is like putting on two small shoes on, just for relief you get when taking them off for a while. Smoking does relieve the addiction for a while, but every smoke begins the cycle again. Smoking doesn't reduce the addiction, it causes it.

We should help smokers to be free from addiction, not to hate them. They are victims, and goverment and health organisations have chosen wrong way to help. They offer only critique and low self-esteem. And the help they offer "you can save this and this much" or "smoking is unhealthy" is pretty obvious. Everybody knows it, and it's not helping. It causes only more stress, and smokers try reduce their allready high stress level by smoking more. We should educate people about the way how the addiction works, help people to understand WHY they smoke, instead of repeating why they SHOULDN'T smoke. If you like smoke, buy small portable smoke machine or go suck exhaust fumes. First looks stupid, second is unhealthy. Smokes and e cigs are both. Quitting smoking may be difficult, but there are easier and kinder ways out.
