I hate this device. I am a desktop only user, but I understand their pandering to phone and tablet users as the majority. Unlike several other mice I have used over the years, I can not find a way to make a right click act as Cmd-click, which in OS X means "open link in a new window". I know I am grasping at straws here, but has anyone figured out how to do this? Thanks.
I'm presuming you have found the configuration section for the mouse in the System Preferences - if not, have a poke in there to see if you can configure it how you want it.
Personally, I've been a Mac user for over a decade, and so far, Apple have yet to make a mouse I don't hate. The good news is that any standards compliant mouse will work on a Mac (every mouse I have ever tried to use on my Macs has always worked).
If you just love mice, I have never bought a mouse from Logitech that I did not love.
If you're prepared to try something different, I can highly recommend the Magic Trackpad from Apple. Imagine an a square the same size on each side as the height of the standard Apple keyboard, and at exact the same angle - you can just pop it next to your keyboard and have all that trackpad realestate to work with. If PC trackpads have put you off, this is nothing like that - I cannot use the crappy trackpads Dell inflict on users, but I simply adore my Magic Trackpad. It also cured my RSI, so that's probably why I love it so much.
Hope that helps,
B.
