Are you a compulsive collector?

Thanks to GH I have many hours of movies and clips.I also have 4,000+dvds of film and TV.I know I'll have to live until I'm 170 to watch them all but I can't stop adding more and more each day.I used to be the same with books but kicked that, but collecting seems to be in my blood.Any of you guys the same? i
Trouble with me is I never do anything by halves.Still as Rod Steiger said in "No way to treat a lady"It doesn't mean I'm a bad person.

Same here. Really compulsive collector. I have well over 4000 classical cds, 500 opera and concert dvds, hundreds of old classical lps that I can't even play cause the turntable died and I am too cheap (and busy) to replace it. I spend more time organizing my collections than using them. In the porn realm I am a little more picky (my likes are very narrow) but since finding this wonder filled forum, I now have close to 1T on an additional hard drive that I bought just for this purpose--when will it stop?

I guess you would say that I am a compulsive music collector. I have close to 10,000 CDs. Many of them I haven't gotten around to listening to them, but I know they are there when I'm ready to give them a listen.

For you porn/digital movie collectors I'm wondering what about your backup strategy. Do you back up to hard drive, dvds or blu-rays? I see that blu-ray discs are down to a buck apiece and hold about 25gb of data. However a 2tb hard drive can be had for about $80 on sale, which on a byte-for-byte basis is about the same cost.

So while the two media are about the same price I realize the optical discs are probably a more reliable storage medium for the long term. HDs are great since they're "online" and can be accessed much more quickly.

With blank DVD's I get them for £14 when on offer.That's for 100.I save in files so get 4.30gb per disc.I am surprised at some of the quality of some of these old Tv show files.I love Bilko & Maverick etc.I was like Bilko when in the army,but not as good.

i am a retro games collector. Anything from the nes to the ps1.

I have most of the retro consoles. Been collecting them for 15 years now lol.

My sega saturn and dreamcast are complete.

I have quite a number of porn collections (collected for over five years now), my brother gave me an external hard drive as a gift and was excited to use it. So I have transferred about a thousand porn vids there, but guess what guys, the hard drive gave me a hard time and has been useless for five months now, I can't recover them so all those collections are now gone. I've started collecting again.

I used to be a porn collector, but not so much anymore, in fact I got rid of almost 1.5 terabyte of porn a few months ago, as most of the stuff I don't look at or may never look at again. I still got a few of them on my backup servers, but that's about it.

Only thing I got now are the stuff I look at frequently, and of course the ones I have had since I was a teenager when I was still experimenting with my sexuality. ^^

My porn collection is quite large. I find it quite exciting to find a new scene to watch but then never really watch the whole thing through, apart from some old favourites.

When one is blessed with pocket money, just to lead a cultivated life alone entails acquiring all sorts of necessary things that in time aculate into sizable collections. Eventually time comes when keeping them becomes a burden and disposing of them a heart-breaking problem. I have an aculation of classical and jazz LP records, VHS cassettes and CDs of opera and classical guitar performance, two rooms full of art, history and cookbooks. At one point I was holding on to six handmade classical guitars. Crystals, china and silver that I hardly use anymore. Thanks for e-bay, I can sell them to people who will love them for another lifetime.
